Hello,

I received my Osmo yesterday, and I am wondering if anyone else but me are experiencing problems with the 120fs slow-motion filming?
It seems like the film-area zoomes in alot (compared to when filming in all other modes), and at the same time Osmo adjusts the light level down so badly that the video goes night-dark, even when filming outside in bright day light. This again result in a very grainy film, and looks far worse quality-vice than all other 120fps videoes I have seen on youtube / Vimeo etc.

Does anyone know if this might be a "mechanical" issue with my Osmo, or whether this is a software issue that can be fixed with a firmware upgrade etc.?

Hi sir, it's normal that the film-area zoom in because the FOV changed to 47 degrees. It's decided by the working mode of camera sensor. The reason for the video turning dark is that the shutter speed was increased in  order to achieve 120fps . Thanks for you feedback. Any questions you can post it here.

Please, what you mean by "NORMAL" ? Did you check the "result" of that "normal" status ? It's TOO MUCH ZOOMED & TOO MUCH DARK !!! What is the point of slow motion on 120 fps, if you have zoom & dark video ?

Add additional lighting if you need to shoot in 120fps. The shutter changed from usual 1/50 or 1/25 to 1/120.

Yes, this will be normal solution. But, I'm trying to find this option. It looks to me that we can't change lighting in "SLOW" mode... It use auto setup... and the results is SO DARK !!! (you can check in my link above, in previous message). So, if you can help us how to change, this may help for sure. Thanks

I agree, 120fps was a marketing push, not a real life usable one.  The video file created the way the Osmo is setup is not usable, soft and very poor quality from zooming in on the sensor.  Maybe we all want too much from a device at this price point, but I won't ever use it as it is.  1080p at 60fps is all I will expect out of the Osmo for that effect.

Yeah... the cropping of the sensor is a big deal... I'm sure it was disclosed somewhere in the details, but it really bummed me out when I saw it was cropped. Why not just say it does 4K 120fps and just scale it up... Great little product otherwise though.
