Has anyone bought the X5 mounting plate just to use with the X3? And if so does it add value to the X3 package (i.e. better dampening, greater stability, less wobble)? Was wondering if this is a worthwhile purchase even though I don't plan on getting the X5 any time soon.

I guess DJI thinks so since they're including it with the I1 V2.

It is a much better design. Obviously the wider footprint helps in the dampening, also the cameras weight is compressing the dampeners rather than pulling down on them. The camera has to overcome its own inertial energy before movement occurs. Long story short less movement, better dampening. Hope this helps

I installed one on mine and works great.  Is it better? not sure but its surely not worse.

Great!  just got mine will test when the weather cooperates. Had to do some slicing and dicing for it to fit the in standard case though.

yes X5 mounting plate works perfectly with X3, I guess you see it yourself now{:3_52:}

Mine is much tighter and difficult to lock in the X3 than the original board.
