Is the WiFi signal transmitted from the handle, or from the camera? From what I gather about how the X3 works with the Inspire 1 and Matrice 100 quadcopters, it seems like the transmitter is in whatever the X3 is mounted to. Otherwise, it should have the range those quadcopters have for video transmission, right?
I ask because I have custom manufactured something like the Osmo Extension Rod, but it is 30 feet long. It is a lightweight jib for travel. The lag in the DJI Go App so bad at 30ft, I cannot accurately control the camera or moniter the video it is capturing. If I could confirm the WiFi transmitter is in the handle, I could fabricate an extension lead to separate the X3 from the handle, keeping the handle on the end of the pole closest to the tablet or smartphone.

Can anyone confirm one way or the other? Or if there is a way to boost the WiFi so there is virtually no lag at 30ft?

It may be possible to boost with something like this, and being USB powered
it should be quite portable.

It seems to cover AP/Bridge/Repeater modes

When the Phantom 2 Vision came out, I managed to setup a Wi-Fi range extender for that,
but it was so long ago I cannot remember all of it exactly. Here is a post on RC Groups I made
at the time, it may help a little.
