I got my X5 working with my Osmo handle

Got my X5 mounted on my osmo but can't update the firmware because i don't have an inspire. Booooooo

It works well we just need Aperature, ISO & Autofocusing working.

If anybody is interested, I have my Osmo handle for sale. Modded it for the x5 and got tired of the buggy features so I ended up just ordering a ronin & camera.

Has two batteries, charger and the handle.

First thanks for all of your help in trying to keep an angry mob satisfied with the lack of information. I've been there, done that and it sucks!!

So... Not to be the master of the obvious here but advertising clearly showed the X5 working with the OSMO when it was released. Nothing was mentioned about the adapter until people started getting their OSMO's delivered and the X5 didn't fit. I ended up chatting with support to ask WTH?!?!?!? Only then to find out there was going to be an adapter....

For those of us who purchased early, as in the first day of release and waited several weeks for it to arrive, I assume DJI is going to provide the adapter for free right? :-)

We should at least be allowed to be on the beta tester list so we can get it and provide feedback.

Just saying... Kind of asking for a false advertising lawsuit in my opinion...

HI, I´m going to joint this conversation. Not to keep adding fire to the fire but to pop a question that has been bothering me for quite some time. What I don´t understand is, why the adapter and firmware has to be released at the same time. Why not give us the opportunity to prepare us the best we can. The minute the firmware is released we can instantly upload it to the gimbal, but it can take days or even weeks for the adapter to arrive by mail...depending on what country we live in and often things for Asia get held up in customs for several days.

So if you have already manufactures the damn thing, why not put it op for sale???

I just did a shoot with the X5 on both the Inspire 1 and the OSMO handle with the 3D printed adapter.

Here's a quick montage I put together from the shoot -

The functionality was limited but the footage is still pretty impressive. Unfortunately DJI continues to be a company with great products but terrible customer service. I'm glad that I got the adapter from ebay because otherwise I would still have a $3,000 paper weight. Let me know what you guys think of the video!

Nice!!! Pretty cool catching the rainbow at the 40 second mark!! Guess I need to get the adapter too...

Hey DJI!! How was "Qing Ming Jie" holiday? Did you manage to get any work done today about that adapter, or too much hangover to handle with this yet?
Because i'm sitting here behind my desk ma......... and waiting REALLY patiently for that little piece, so I can work on projects and then maybe earn some money so I can eat and live.

I feel like an idiot asking about this adaptor for the Osmo to use the X5.  I like (who knows how many) bought the Osmo to use with my X5 camera from my Inspire 1 Pro last year.  I hoping the thing will eventually hold the X5R, but I'll certainly settle for the X5 working for now.  If anybody @ DJI KNOWS when this adapter will surface, PLEASE respond officially.  If KNOWBODY KNOWS, just disregard this post and I'll keep on waiting.  By the way, when I use certain lenses (Olympus) on my X5 along with variable ND filters and the like, I have to use a Balancing Kit that I bought on eBay.  Will I have to incorporate the same Balancing Kit when using the X5 on the Osmo?  How about the X5R?

You are not a idiot...after 6 month there is no release day or a osmo pro firmware....for me i dont understand what is the problem.

today i speak with my dealer and he is very angry about this situation.he speak with the other 2 biggest dealers here.
he is thinking about to send all osmo x5/ x5r  and the osmo handle kit back.
the problem is that dji nothing saying about the adapter....no release date!!!
after 6 month he has no nerves about this.
yuneec call him today and make a special offer about this problem....i will see and maybe i will test yuneec.

We're terribly sorry to keep you waiting for so long time.
However, we just never give up and we're appreciated with your long-term concerns!
The coming release date will be provided only when everything is done. We will take it as the top priority to work it out. It won't be that long any more.

In case you haven't figured it out, acting this was isn't helping your case. Knock if off.

It's frustrating that is has taken this long, but you were never promised a date when it would be available. It was known at the time the X5 came out that it wasn't yet compatible.  Enough.

X5 Osmo is looking very good on Philip Blooms beta testing.
Looks very stable, and nice shallow depth of field from the X5.
Looking forward to the official adaptor release!

Im betting any day now, DJI will announce the Osmo 2 or the osmo pro. Then magically all the x5 adaptor problems will just disappear and it will work perfectly.

The problem is not solved in 6 month.
Next week is mid april....hahah.
Was there not a post here in the forum hat dji says in november "soon"

I have time next week to bring my stuff back and buy a yuneec with steadycam.
I will test it neext week.

I felt my seller and told me he does not know what to do! One group of customers is creating a committee to do to him, and because at this point I join too!
Unfortunately it is not his fault but something must be done! Now it's too, and patience is over !!!
I hope that sooner or later you can sue DJI all together and get refund and damages received in 6 months!

I agree guys. There's no point in "beating a dead horse." You can't force DJI to release a product just because you can't wait any longer. I understand the frustration as I want one too. The facts are, it's just not available right now.

but sometimes you must say this.
then there are  new costumers they want to buy x5 and osmo handlekit and they dont know that they cannot use it.
it cannot be that dji making so bad buisness about loyal buyers.....they must hear it every day..sorry.
sometimes you must make pressure and say this....and when enough costumers make this maybe dji will make and release a osmo pro firmware and adapter.
