Hi all,

I purchased a new smart battery from DJI.com and flew it once for about 10 minutes without any issues. Upon turning the unit back on again, I received an 'MC Invalid Battery' warning on the iPhone screen. I took the battery out and replaced with another with no issues. Once back home, I tried plugging-in the battery and it did not charge at all. No lights.

Contacted DJI service and they said I need to update the firmware. I did that, but the firmware was the most updated already. Battery still cannot charge so it is useless unless I get a replacement.

Any of you had this issue before?

Hi, I sent this to the DJI customer service representative. No updates required of the firmware. When I turn battery on and then plug it in the charger, lights flash quickly but no charging takes place.

DJI has agreed to replace the battery but I need to send mine back.

Out of curiosity, what is the full number at the barcode on the bottom of the battery?

What difference would that make? Did you have a similar issue and believe DJI sent me a defective battery that was previously returned for the same reason?

Some clone batteries have been sold with the new Phantoms.  From what I understand, genuine DJI batteries start the number with DJ at the beginning.   Clone batteries have just numbers.  I have 4 batteries and all start with DJ and I have not had any problems upgrading them.

Sorry to bother but have to correct you that the battery which does not start the number with DJ is not a clone one. Just 2 kind of versions.

To present, the only batteries that I have heard of not starting so far has just numbers.  Does DJI make batteries with just numbers at the bar code?

Yes, we have batteries with just numbers at the bar code.

I stand corrected, but most of the ones that I have heard of that suffered from the updates have had just numbers.  Bad batch from the manufacturers maybe?

I don't think so.
The difference at bar code just means the difference of versions. Both kinds of batteries are authorized by DJI so there couldn't be a bad batch at all.
Really sorry for those who suffered from the updates but it's a fault of firmware development but not of manufacturer.
