Hi guys,

I had updated my P3 to firmware 1.4 last month without much problems, but now I have massive trouble with 1.5 firmware.

I had tried to update and the normal update beep would stop after about 20 minutes with no indication of completion of the update. I then turned off the P3 and the log file tell me just Upgrading... and no successful or failure. After trying this twice without success, I turn it on to this loud BEEP sound.

I checked online and everyone seems to say that to leave it for a while with a fresh 1.5 firmware file on an SD card and it would be okay (after about 20 minutes or so).

So I did, actually tried several times doing just that, but each time it would only beep constantly for close to 1 hour or beyond without signs of stopping.

Eventually all I can do it turn it off again.

I don't know what to do now, can you please tell me?

Hi Peter,

Try formatting the SD Card with Fat32 and repeat the update.

Second possible solution: Try downgrading your firmware to 1.3.20 and after that with fresh Fat32 format to 1.5.30

Thank you, for downgrading do I just do the same procedure, drag file into SD card and then insert into drone?

Yes. It worked for me with my advanced drone.

Yea I just tried to downgrade it and it didn't work, beeped for 30+ minutes until it has burnt smell. I had to stop it. I'm guessing all I can do is send it to a repair.

Burnt smell ? Doesn't sound good.

Was it beeping constantly or did it beep 5 times total every 5 minutes ?

It constantly beeps for over 1 hour ....... sometimes it speeds up ... but never ever stops

That's a strange behavior. You should bring it to your dealer.

Is there a fix for this problem yet? I have the same loud beeping noise, App looks normal, safe to fly, gps etc. but motors won't start and loud beeps. No burning smell though.

Please try rebooting your aircraft . If that just doesn't stop , please contact your dealer or support center .

I had the same problem.
Tried 50 times....but then i was lucky.

I took the SD card and formatted it on my PC.....right click then Format.
Be sure to format with FAT32 not FAT(standard)
It seemed to be wrong formatted by the quad.....

same here it stopped in middle of update and now just beeps wont reboot
