Hi, i would like to ask for feedback about car chargers.
I see 3 types in ebay, and wondering if someone uses any. I am flying rc helis 10 years now and know that it is not safe to charge lipo through the cigarete plug. But  i really need sometimes, when driving my car to charge, and see there are people charging in car.
Dont care for inverters for now.

I've heard some scary stories about them, but never used myself, just be careful and choose a good one

why not just buy an inverter?

You need an inverter to produce 120 VAC or wire two 12 volt DC batteries in series to make 24VDC.

The P3 battery is 15.2 volts, so attempting to charge with 12VDC is a waste of time.

I know what you mean, i have seen photos of burned cars from lipo charging in car,  i agree we must be careffull on this.

I think the best and safer choice would be a good inverter. As for charging while driving, i dont know if i will find a reliable charger, for now i keep buying lipo packs !!!

+1

I use a $15 150W inverter. It works fine. I don't use unless I'm topping up before reaching my fly zone.

Charging batteries that fast must be terrible for the batteries

I agree, to my experience with rc helis lipos, the slowest the charging the better for lipo life.
I have 2 100w and 1 57w dji charger for now, th aadvanced charger is for my oldest batteries.

Since i also have 2-3 chargers from the helis, i might do a mod to charge dji lipos. Choosing amps etc is my preferred charging.

As for the inverter, yes i think i may go to that solution, since there are days of full flying-filming in different locations.
