So, after spending ALOT of time getting my P3A up to speed (Firmware and Map issues), want to take some pics and video of peoples house with the xmas lights on. (With their permission)

Advice?
ND Filters, camera settings.. etc.
Have started to take pics in J+R and 16:9 but that's about it.  Everything else is usually on Auto or locked.
Planning on Sunset and a few hours thereafter.

Shoot at dusk, not dark.  You need to turn the exposure down so the lights are not so bright that they lack color.  Small point lights loose all color when they are overexposed.  So shoot when it still dark, and turn the exposure down to darken it enough to show good color.  And remember...  very slow and smooth movements.
