If not, is there an alternative to lightbridge worth checking out? Maybe I can get a mobile Wi-Fi range extender?

The Lightbridge 2 is not meant fro the Phantom line. The Standard is WiFi and the Lightbridge supports the A2 and WooKong flight controllers.

Okay, so could a mobile Wifi range extender work if I want longer distances? Something I could mount on my car?

Not a DJI product for your Phantom Standard. But if you search the internet they're may be some DIY info out there.
