I was testing my Osmo with some external mics this morning and so far I have not been able to get any of them to work!!

I tried the Rode Video Micro first and nothing, nada, no audio...

I then tried a Audio-Technica battery powered lavalier mic... again the same problem, no audio.

I then tried it with the internal mic and there was audio there, but as we all know the quality is terrible.

Why won't either of these mics work? Is it a problem with the Osmo?

Both mics have stereo 3.5mm connectors, is it simply that the Osmo will only work with a mono connector?

OKAY IGNORE THAT!

Got it working after switching off and on again. On the latest update of the android app you can add mic gain, you also get a small icon showing external mic and apparent levels, the levels don't move despite the mic actually working.

Problem solved? Thanks for sharing the new app functions.
