Yes, during eruptions all flights must avoid Etna airspace (in a radius of many tens of km), but there are anyway scientific helis sometimes flying over it. Anyway, I did never fly higher than 120m above local ground (home point was always lower than the summit), following rules. Regarding distance restrictions, it is not clear what you mean: Etna is empty of people, so that you fly at your risk only, it's almost impossible to harm somebody (the battery will die for sure before reaching some village at many kms) |
