I would like to see an option in product support pages to receive an email notification when a new firmware update has been released for my selected product.

Currently we have no way of knowing of updates unless we keep running our product software or randomly DJI's website.

How do I set that up?

As long as you registered in dji.com, when there is a new FW released, you will get an email.

We will try to work on the app, so the app will also remind you there is new FW.

You don't have to set up, it is automatic in the system.
