When you say not functional are you referring to the fact there is NO link to register your quad anywhere on the FAA website? What a trip, surely our government isn't still using the nitwits who wrote the Obama Care exchange site. From the looks of it, they are...

Everyone acts so happy go lucky about registering. As if you are taking off the the moon. To be legal we have to do this, I understand and with that said, I'll probably register but I'm not happy about it. Considering my details are not made public then I don't have a major problem with it. But make no mistake this is the beginning to a never ending problem. Mark my words!

haha  that's tough !lol

So, if I use my Inspire 1 Pro for business use, am I able to use the web based system to register my one quadcopter? It seems that is for non-proffesional use only and I need to file by "paper" for now until they figure out the commercial registration process? If someone could shed some light on that it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

If you are using any airframe for commercial gain (make money) it falls under the Sec 333 exemption and CoA requirement and must be done on paper and results in issuance of an "N" number.  This registration is specific to non-commercial UASs in the specified weight range.
