The release notes mentions nothing about fixing vibrations in 1.5.3 everyone was experiencing. So no ...
I'll not be trying it until it's verified, since there's no return to 1.4 if it doesn't fix the vibration issues. It's pretty poor if not, especially as it's effectively a one-way trip to not being safe to fly.
Can anyone verify if the problems have been addressed?
I see that the firmware mentions -> In cold environments, propulsion output is automatically adjusted based on batterytemperature and cell voltage. Horizontal and vertical speed is also decreased to avoid triggering battery protection. What *specifically* code wise does this address?
I had the vibrations when I first did the update than after a few times of downgrade/upgrade of fw and and cold imu, compass cal, the vibrations are no longer there. I'm just a little apprehensive to update, thinking it might screw things up... So to speak.
My DJI GO appiOS version is 2.4.3 and has been since 18/12 according to the App Store ?
I notice that my DJI GO appiOS version is now crashing out every time I hit the 'camera' button on the main page. I'm running iOS 9.2.
Anyone experiencing similar ? I've tried resetting the iPad Mini 2 but no change....
All a bit frustrating as I was about to hand over to the missus to gift wrap for Xmas day.....thinking that there wouldnt be a firmware update SOOOO close to Xmas......because that would be quite frustrating for all those customers opening their Phantoms on Xmas day.....and having to go through firmware update saga !
EDIT: Ok - uninstalled App and reinstalled....and we seem to be working again....bit frustrating though - maybe linked to iOS 9.2 upgrade ?

Yes, for the first time when opening the app on IOS it may shut down. Deleting the app, power cyclin ...
Ok - so my App is saying the Aircraft version is 1.5.30+ should I not expect a version similar to the bin file ie 1.6.40 ?
I open the .txt file on the SD card and its saying:
========== 2015.12.22 18:04:04 =====================
Packet: P3S_FW_V01.06.0040.bin
Result: Abort.
The firmware on the SD card is identical to or older than the current firmware on the aircraft.
Ok, so I tried the upgrade again and checked the txt file and am now getting the following:
========== 2015.12.22 18:04:04 =====================
Packet: P3S_FW_V01.06.0040.bin
Result: Abort.
The firmware on the SD card is identical to or older than the current firmware on the aircraft.

I edited my previous post, the app will say 1.5.30 after updating to 1.6. But the TXT file on the ...
Ok thanks - and NO battery update ?
Yes, this version includes a battery update. So after updating everything, you still need to install each battery and have the BIN file on the SD card and powerup only the aircraft.
The update shouls only take a few minutes since only the battery is being updated.
Read the user's manual about 10 times before flying.
Performed every single firmware update (aircraft, RC, battery) that ever came out (including today's).
Never had an issue, ever. No flyouts, no vibration, beautiful videos, and an incredible pleasure flying this Phantom and fillming incredible videos. Every single time I fly it, I am truly amazed with the technology (engineering, information technology, software, hardware).
Thank you DJI for such a great product and do keep up the good work.
And yes, once in a while I go back and read the user's manual just to be on the safe side.
Did the latest firmware update tonight and all is good.

Question: I have P3S upgrade is successful, how do I do the battery update? Just turn off drone ins ...
When you did the PS3, the batery also got upgraded. If you have extra batteries, turn off PS3, insert new battery, and turn on PS3. Repeat for each extra battery.
thanks for the info appreciate it, also is there a way for me to know that the update is done? like a sound or something? how long should I let the battery in the drone before turning it off and putting the other battery?

2.7 was available before this 1.6 update.
Ken, was this battery issue a problem on older firmware? I am still on 1.3.20 and like how it flies. If it was not an issue on older firmware I would like to stay put for awhile.
See the Battery Update info. Watch the LED diode status.
When the intelligent flight battery, update is happening, you will see the lights change from their normal blinking.
Once they have returned to a normal pattern the firmware has already completed the upgrade.
Eh, that is incredibly Awesome of you to report. & please don't hesitate to let us know how it eventually goes? We are only here, to give you assistance and guidance when ever it's rquested. ;-)
I bet you do these updates on a regular basis, and enjoy the procedure just as much as I have.
Of course owning a trouble free drone, does make all the difference.
We are of the lucky majority, & have nothing to fear, or for that matter for a fix really, either. . .
Just more awesomeness, and memorable flights with 4K video to prove it. Ha
From what I gathered watching the NBC & ABC national news this evening, there are going to be many southern United States who are going to experience a brown Christmas, without any snow on the ground, or covering the evergreens.
That's one thing I wouldn't trade. ;-)
Having 4 distinct seasons just makes sense..
