I have the same problem I return the drone two liver after sales service the problem is the same drone loses its signal and 200M revien alone
I do not recommend the brand DJI if you want to buy a drone that works parrot. these crappy equipment with after sales service at the same level as their off Product

Hi all, For every one who have this trouble, and re-link the remote controller doesnt work, the only way to fix this for me, was restoring my Samsung Galaxy S5, after this, just download the DJI Go APP, and this will work.
For me was the only way.

Yes, i got all really OK again, 500M on city, 1.7KM w/o interferences.

This is a valuable information, thank you. I may want to try to reset my phone before i install this new drone update. Do you use any antenna modifications or have you achieved this result with the standard antennas?

All stock, just original.
I really recommend to your that before update, and if maybe happen to you that u cannot get signal, then restore your phone.
Maybe after update all will work ok.

I have reset my tablet, and installed an update on 1 batery, it seems ok... tomorow i will check the distance with a clean tablet with only DJI app installed and the new 1.6.8 firmware. Stay tuned

Sell your standard and go for advanced or pro or better Phantom 4. This thing is useless and DJI is cutting corners with standard.

Every product has its customers, i was fully satisfied with the price of P3S and what you can get from it... before it gone bad with the firmware update or whatever that was...

I have just returned from the test, I was able to reach 350 m with 100m of altitude with tuned antennas, and about 250m with the standart ones.
The area where I flown the drone had a relative strong interference with lots of other Wifi...
It became better... but still not the same, how it was (or maybe it was due to the interference, as i am in Europe and using CE, it is stupid to wait a 1,7 km of distance from p3s here)
When I look at the log, i see a constant connect-reconnect... doesn't seems like normal at all

20 meters and signal is lost. some times its coming back for a few seconds and it is gone again.
no joy at all and i want to smash my drone grrrrrrrrr
is there a way to downgrade the standard model?
only one week of joy for 599 euro this sucks hard I WISH I NEVER DID THE UPDATE

i tried every thing that i could find on the internet
i got different kinds of brand in drones but the dji was the most expensive one and the one with PROBLEMS

please anyone help me

Signal lost after 300m, then regained it at 340 and finally lost it at 380.
By the way, i'm using an antenna mod. Before the firmware-update  i reached more than 1km once.

What antenna mod do you use?
It looks like you lost your video signal, but not the control signal, which is very unusual among the most users including me. I can fly about 300m, but then it goes RTH as i loose the control signal but can see the video feed from the drone...

I am using tuned antennas (self-made), 2 7dBi directional for video and a helical 5,8 Ghz 11 dBi for control. I am still waiting my Cir-Pol clover leaf to change the 5,8 Ghz antennas on the drone itself. I hope I could reach at least 400 m of a clear signal...

And then I would definitely sell the P3S... and if this problem wont be fixed for all the P3S users i will never buy from the DJI anymore!!!

And everybody, who have warranty for the drone, MUST go and return it, so that DJI knew that something isn't like it should be!!!

i use the argtek mod, also with the stock argtek antennas.

well i usually just get a "no signal" message while i still having full bars.
The longest distance i ever reached was 1km. But i always lose the video-signal before losing the rc-signal.

It definitely looks like a software limitation... only 300-380 m with argtek, it couldn't be true.

I have also noticed, there is a constant connect-reconnect of the signal (it changes constantly between "good" signal quality and "strong interference") even if the drone is 1m away from me. I see this when i press "Safe to fly..." in the dji app. Frustrating!

Thanks for the links . Version 1.5.70 is operating normally. Version 1.68 has problems with sending wireless signals.

Downgrade to 1.5.70 does not work for me either, because this problem started with 1.5.70 firmware. If we could downgrade to an older version than 1.5.70 it would fix for sure.
I tried to talk with guys from DJI but I think they don't care too much about this. Everyone should write a lot of e-mails to DJI team about this problem.
For me it's been a month since it is broken.

I formatted my SD card on your computer, put the *.bin file on the card , put the card in the aircraft and turned on only aircraft . Automatically he did downgrade . I'm using 1.6.80 right now and I was able to get about 500m the other day. Granted it kept losing signal even when it was close to me, but I am still able to go 500m with no issues. No issues here except for the range issues that came with 1.5.7

I have wrote a complain to DJI technical support today. We can do it together to make them notice the problem.

I had the same issue after updating the FW. relinking the RC didn't fix at first, but the second time around seemed to fix
I hadn't tried it yet outside, though. I really hope it doesn't turn out to randomly loose the signal

The Steps :
1. Download the firmware at http://phantomhelp.com/Mobile/Phantom-3-Standard/#FirmwareArchive and select the fw that you want .bin file format

2. Insert the file to sd card, outside folder, and must be the only one .bin file format

3. Turn on the RC and the drone without sd card until it connect (RC and Drone)

4. Connect to DJI GO App (to see downgrade status stay at front page of the app)

5. Insert the sd card. Then the downgrade process is starting and rear led will turn to yellow and there will be beep sound from the drone (it is normal). See at DJI GO app, there will be status bar show the downgrade process. If the rear led becomes green it means the process is complete, you also can see the succes notice at DJI GO App.

6. Restart the RC and Drone, connect DJI GO App, check the FW. Finish.


I hope it can help the issue of 1.6.80 firmware for Phantom 3 Standard

good RC signal, but lost video connection on ~50m
downgrade firmware from v1.6.80 to v1.5.7 solved my problem.
