I noticed a new software update came available on 22nd December 2015. is it only for the craft? what about the RC?

Are you talking about the firmware upgrade ? Please check the release note . If you are using a P3P, please take a look at this . Thank you !

Thank you. Why do they no longer supply the instruction text file along with the update file? is the procedure still the same to upgrade the craft? RC must be off while upgrading the craft?

Please take a look at your current firmware in DJI Go App before you upgrade . You don't need to turn RC off when updating the aircraft firmware .

My app is 2.4.3
my RC is 1.5.70
my firmware is 1.6.40
is this correct please?

It doesn't matter . You can also check our tutorial : http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-3-pro/info#downloads
But remeber this , you should update RC firmware via App if the RC is GL300B and the firmware version is older than 1.3.2 .

Thanks. My app and RC did not do any update. only the craft and the batteries. I suppose the app and the RC are the latest software then

The firmware versions and App version are up to date . You don't need to be worried .

I have updated the software today.
Followed all the instructions but it only upgraded aircraft software, not RC software.
Dji GOApp does not show any need for upgrade although RC software version is older.

See attached for difference of software versions.Is this a problem?
