Hello,

I have 2 battiers I've been trying to charge for the first time. Each have gotten to 50-75% and then have alerted with the "overcharge detected". I have searched the internet and found a youtube video showing my exact issue, but had no resolution to the issue.

I have followed the manuals instruction to the letter and have tried repeatedly for a week with no luck

*2 batteries each at "overcharge detected"
*both stuck at 50-75%
*both on their first charge

Please help!
Thank you in advance!

Respectfully sent,

William

Raise a support ticket with DJI.
There's clearly an issue.

Try turning the battery on,  leave it on, and plug in the charger.  If that fails to work, try running the batteries down, then charge.

Thank you for your help guys.

Tried the leaving it on, worked for about 2 minutes and then the overcharge error happened again. Trying the running batteries down now and will contact DJI via the online support once they open up.

Do the battery calibration and see if it eliminates the battery over charge.
How many charges and what battery percent life does it have.

What exactly is the Batt Cal? If its to drain all the way then charge all the way. working on that now. Its the first battery My inspire came with, but I have a total of 8 now. Ill double check in the AM, but If I remember is at 98% with about 22 charges. I will check tomorrow as I am going flying. supposed to be mid 60s! (f)

Page 22 of the manual. And calibrate them each at 20 cycles and use the stock charger to do it.

How to discharge your Intelligent Flight Battery:
To effectively calibrate the battery capacity, it is recommended to charge and discharge the battery thoroughly for every 10 charge-and-discharge cycle. User should install the battery onto the aircraft and then power on the aircraft to initiate the discharge process, discharge the battery until the aircraft is powered off automatically. User should then fully charge the battery to ensure the battery is working at its optimal.
Slow: Place the Intelligent Flight Battery into the Inspire 1’s Battery Compartment and power it on. Leave it on until there is less than 5% of power left, or until the battery can no longer be turned on. Launch the DJI GO app to check battery level.
Rapid: Fly the Inspire 1 outdoors until there is less than 5% of power left, or until the battery can no longer be turned on.

I was way off ... It has 34 charges and it shows 92% batt life remains. took off and noticed 2 cells are lower then the others. While 4 are right around 3.7v, two of them are below 3.6 not sure if that matters much.

I had this exact same issue, solved it with a full calibration.  Ken is correct, I used an angel discharger however.

20 cycles,
Battery Charging
1) Charge and discharge the battery completely once every 20 charge/discharge cycles. Discharge the battery until there is 8% remaining power or until it can no longer be turned on, then recharge it to the maximum capacity. This power cycling procedure will optimize battery life.
2) The Intelligent Flight Battery is designed to stop charging when it is full. However it is a good practice to monitor the charging progress and disconnect the batteries when fully charged.

Correct, a battery calibration is necessary to keep your batteries running smoothly throughout it's life.

The voltage spread should be closer.
Look at one of my batteries 55 charges and still have 98% life left. I only used 50% for the first 10 charges and I calibrate every 20 charges.Calibrate your battery the slow way (power up the aircraft and leave it until it shuts off) and then charge it with the stock charger and see what the battery info looks like. I bet the cells will be more balanced.

It still gives the indication of overcharge, but it will make it to 100%.. should I be worried? The cell still has a variance. cell 1 & 3 show 4.19v and the others are 4.29/4.32/4.32/4.31. Is there any concern with this? If so... ill just use it as a controller field charger and order another TB47 to take its place.

Thank you.

Me personally I would use it for ground tests and not a flight battery.
If it were an RC car who cares, but with an aircraft and attempting to fly as safe as possible I wouldn't fly with it over 1/10th cell difference, and especially since you slow calibrated it and it made no difference.
