as you guys are focusing on the DJI Phantom 3 which is most like the best Phantom yet. You might want to mention what we call the hand catch landing......

As the PH3 pro and advance can hover very well do to the sensors. Hover the drone about a 1m away from you, now step closer to the aircraft and use your right hand to grab the left or right landing leg of the aircraft. As soon as you have firm grip power down the aircraft using the left hand via the throttle stick.

We teach this trick new PH 1, 2 and 3 pilots. It is much easier than landing on grass and mud (gimbal break down) ..... as new bee's always bounce the Phantoms during there first landings.

Even us old timers use this trick from time to time......

I think if compass error come is mid flight and we do RTL the craft will fly away

i was flying p3 pro , after 3-4 min compass error message comes , the aircraft was in my sight it was drifting  towards right at very high speed
i switch to atti mode and land it, i was really scared

Compass error and RTL will not necessarily cause a fly away.

Good to hear you were able to land your craft. This is why we recommend knowing how to fly and not becoming too dependent on the automated systems. It is also why we recommend flying LOS line of sight.

yes ,
we have to control it  manually  for such situation,
main things is we should not get panic ,

knowledge and experience matter a lot .

Yes it is so true. Main thing is not to panic, even experienced pilots can do this.
