Several things to consider on the lipo batteries in the video range extender and the RC unit. All lipos have a limited number of recharge cycles, so I personally don't want to "top them off" all the time, unless you really want to do some lengthy flying/video each time with a bunch of flight batteries. You don't want to store them for an extended time at full charge. ( long being more than a couple of weeks.) A third rule is to NEVER let them go down to 0% charge. For long term storage, periodically check them. Also store & charge them in cool dry, place. Excessive heat is a big enemy of lipos. As Gerry says, the flight batteries will discharge to 50% after 10 days; the flight batteries has a smart monitoring system built in. The RC and videos do not, so you need take the precautions above to get maximum life. I am a newbie at the quad, but I have studies lipo batteries for some time now; I also stayed at a Holiday Inn.... |
