Has anyone seen pricing from DJI on the new X5R (standalone) yet? At least, anything official from DJI?

I just got an e-mail from DroneFly in which they indicate they are now taking pre-orders for the X5R at a price of $3,599 USD. That's awfully specific to be a speculative price, I think.

B&H is also listing it at $3100 or so.

If this is anywhere close to the final price of the X5R and the unit does what they say it does... wow.

Indeed, I initially saw posts where it was going to be double , $8k for the camera+inspire 1 and around $4k for the camera alone.

I do believe 3100 is accurate now.

Took a bit of searching but the answer is here:

$3,199 with no lens, $3,599 with so you're both right!  They say they are expecting good sales which has allowed them to sharpen their pencil on the price a bit.   I must admist this is less than I thought it would be.

It kind of suggests it comes with the SSD media but it's not 100% clear.  Mentions it on the No-Lens option but only there.

So we really need to know if any media is included in the price and if not, how much it costs.

I'm assuming it has to come with the media given that I haven't seen separate media for sale and it's 100% a proprietary form factor.

Or maybe not? DJI wouldn't do us like that, would they?

Site implies the 512GB  proprietary SSD but I'd also be curious to see the official answer.

Also, will additional proprietary SSD's be available and if so, what will the pricing be?

Emptying DNG's from a 512GB SSD while you wait to fly (and possibly lose ideal lighting conditions) isn't ideal.

Guess it depends on how you shoot.  a 512GB SSD will allow about 30 minutes of record time.  For me that's plenty as the X5r should really be used to get controlled shots rather than to wild-record long flights.

You would need an insane amount of drive space if you came home with a TB of footage every time you went out.

I typically come home with about 15 minutes of footage using 3 batteries on the Inspire, getting controlled shots with rehearsed moves.   

I would also assume that the X5R is capable or recording H.264 so you could get about 20 hours of footage if you needed it.  

I am just a little worried on how much this will all weigh and what the flight times will be.

Pre-ordered mine today!

Awesome!  My main concern about the X5R was pricing.  I can't wait to see the video IQ from this camera.

Hey Tim, is the pricing on additional SSDs?   30 min is probably enough for most things but for pro jobs might need a few.

Cool thanks.  Is it confirmed that the X5R will come with the SSD?   That's probably all most people will need.
