I am incredibly frustrated and already regretting my purchase. I have had failure before my first flight. With a full charge the controller beeps with a blinking red light when I turn it on. I have the Phantom 3 Advanced.

Do you have the controller hooked up to a source (phone, tablet)?

LOL I think I figured it out. It appears I have to have the tablet connected before turning on the controller and it works.

Yes.  You have to have everything connected 1st before you power anything up.  

I suggest watching the tutorial videos of the Academy section of the app, It will really help you a lot. Top right corner of the main page when you open the app.

I suspect another "fly away" post coming soon DJI-Ken....lol.

Maybe the OP can put "Solved" in the title of his/her post to let everyone know it was a bit of self help therapy that resolved the issue.

Oh, and agree with the "watch the videos and read the manual"....

come on. give the guy a break. we have all done things like this once in a while. we get so excited we jump right in and have some issues. Play nice.

Read the Field Manuel (RTFM). did not have all the information we need to do everything right the first time. always a little trial and error.

fly safe and have fun.

^Before I bought my P3P, I sat for a couple hours and watched the beginner videos...etc provided by DJI and others on youtube.   Learned quickly what to and not to do.  What I didn't do was buy it, take it out of the box, not read one dang thing and then get on this forum and cry because I can't get it to work and in a round about way blame DJI.  Like most flyaways.....this too was human error.  

Well the main issue is I needed the firmware update and I should have done that before trying to fly . Yes I am a noob and I am sorry for the bad attitude. I was just excited to get started. I finally did take my first flight and it was successful. I of course concentrated too much on flying and didn't take enough time to play with camera settings.
