What is the best place to mark your FAA registration code on a Phantom 3?

I just registered my drone with the FAA and I recieved my registration UAS Certificate Number. The FAA site reads that you must mark the number on any and all aircraft before you operate them and that the number must be visible without using tools (You may mark it inside the battery compartment if that is accessible. You may use any method to affix the number that ensures it remains visible, including permanent marker, label, or engraving.). I was just wondering where the best place was to put it on my Phantom 3 Standard. I would like the number to not be visible while still following the FAA rules. I was thinking the battery compartment but I wasnt sure how to place it in there and where to place it without affecting the connection between the drone and the battery. Any ideas?

Look at your quad, decide where you want it, put it there.  No big decision, no need to ask where the best place is.  The best place is where you decide to put it.  Some people put it in the battery compartment - a small label on the side - thinking it would interfere with the connection is just silly.  Some put it on the leg with a label or permanent marker.  Some put it on the shell.

I printed all of my information onto a sticker, and then i put it right on top of the DJI logo, then took a spare logo and put it right in front of that

I looked in the battery compartment.  It's pretty tight in their and I did not want to cause any issues with the battery (heat, binding, etc.).

I put mine on the rear landing strut.

BTW, I have no issues with registration, at all.  Anything I pilot requires registration (car's, motorcycle's, etc,).

On my P3Pro, thre's a very small "ledge" just above where the battery slides in. Using the smallest font available on my P-Touch label maker, I created a label (self-stick) and put it on that little ledge.

As others here point out - it doesn't matter. Put it where it fits.

Aloha lex,

There are many creative ways, noted in this thread, on how to do it.  In my case, I printed out a column of my numbers in an 8 font with my printer.  Then I cut them out so they would fit on a short strip of half inch 3M invisible tape.  Using a tweezers, allowed me much more control to place the number in the middle of the tape.  I put a number on each of my batteries so when I put them into the P3, the number was in the battery compartment.

Then I put one just under the Phantom name in the front of the body facing forward just for fun (and on my P2 to).

We bought us online from this company they have a video showing how and where to apply your sticker.
This is where we put ours looks like its made to be there.

Some people say put in the battery compartment but how would it fit?

Does anyone know if you can just put it on the battery...Does FAA allow this?

I know this is an old post, but I wanted to provide a company I found on ebay that provides some really decent FAA registration stickers, for those as anal as me who could never come to using a Sharpie on their beautiful ride.  For basically $7 bucks, the company provides several stickers, a laminated FAA registration card, free lost drone service, and they shipped within a few hours too!

Piece of paper taped inside the battery compartment.  Works like a charm.
