I've been going through many of the other threads about people having no video signal to the display.

I'm having the same problem. I get the red bar on top stating no signal.
I can however still snap photo's and video that still records to the SD card fine (when viewed on my computer after downloading it off the card). But the playback on the RC display is just a grey screen on both.

I've inspected the ribbon cables and can see no damage. (I had a pretty hard landing the same day I lost the video) The conectors also appear to be seated properly as well.

I have not yet tried to go back to the previous Firmware version but I assume thats my next step. I've only had the P3 for a couple weeks now. I upgraded to the newest firmware the day I got it and had no problems till 2 days ago when I lost the video.

I have tried using different devices (iPad/iPhone). Killing the App and restarting, uninstalling and reinstalling the App. Neither of which worked

What I'd like to know is if all any of the other people can still record to the card as mine will or is my problem more likley from damage?

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated as I am very new to this hobby

I contact DJI Support and the answer was that I need send my bird to service repair.

Checking the log entries I presume that some devices, probable that responsible for image transmission was not sucessful upgraded and are not detected any more.

Hello I'm having the same problem. Got my Phantom 3 Standard a couple of days ago. Can't get my Android Tablet to see the "Live Video" from the camera for mor than 3 mins. Then drops out with "No signal" red message at the top of screen. Go back to "Home" screen and press "Camera view" and it's live again. Then drops out after some  other time. Not distance dependant ! Orientation symbol/histogram/gimbal all wotk fine.   Phoned the support guy at DJI and he said try another tablet/phone and see what happens.
Any ideas???

Sorry I didn't reply sooner

Check the fan on top of the Pro's camera to ensure there is no debris from your crash.
Slowing the fan enough will stop video feed.

Otherwise, hopefully its a software issue that can be fixed one day.

My Dji Phantom 3 Advanced was working fine, I had just had a quick flight and then decided to update the aircraft and the controller to the latest firmware as the Dji Go app was prompting me to do so.
I have a new Ipad air2 which I had to purchase as my other tablet ( Samsung Tab3 ) wouldn't show me the video/camera feed.

Anyway after updating

Dji Go app to ios 2.7.1
Aircraft P3 advanced to 1.7.60 (I had heaps of problems getting it to load this, the report kept saying it was the same version 1.6 ? but when I look on the app screen it says its 1.7.60 )
RC to 1.5.8 ( even now it still keeps telling me it needs to update to version 1.5.8 even though in the (about page) it's version is 1.5.8)
My Ipad Air 2 is running 9.3.1

I now have control of the phantom but I cannot see any camera or video on my ipad screen.
I have reinstalled and restarted everything multiple times and I get the same results. ( have reinstalled the DJI Go app from your website and I now have lost all of my flight records also)
I am so disappointed with this Phantom.
After having to buy a new Ipad Air2 at the start just so it would be compatible to see the camera on screen I'm now back to where I started.

Sand , you need to look at the hidden file, look at lines 0800 and 1500 and post what they say, or just list the hidden file here.

You did not happen to have the transmitter on during update to the aircraft did you ? or did you use a Mac to format the SD card file ?  These are 2 culprits that I have seen cause this type of problem .
If the SD card comes back clear, change the cord on the RC to ipad and lower the camera  setting to 1080 and  a frame rate of 24fps   , I would also do a refresh of the Transmitter, it is simple and I will give you directions once we know the status of the SD card.  ( Dont want to Mess with more stuff, one at a time )

Be sure to look at the very bottom of the File , that would be the most recent.  If the bottom of the file looks like post number 2 ( Murmcl post) with lines 0800 and 1500 say "Device not detected "  the unit must go in.  From what I hear it is not an expensive repair, and turn around is about a week,  bout 100 bucks.  This is just a rough estimate from what i have heard and seen, dont quote me

Make sure you are firing up the Unit in this order, this will prevent that warning from popping up( Regarding the update,) also make sure you have internet access for the I pad so that it can confirm with DJI servers  that your update has been completed, (not while flying of course but make sure it can update, also shut down and re-boot the Ipad completely) .    ( I dont know the exact mechanism of action, only what works )  Most important is that the" go APP" is opened and closed last , the other is personal preferance.

1- transmitter
2- aircraft
3- go app

I turn off in this order because i noticed some of my changes to my settings would not lock, this may have changed but I have had good luck with it.  
1- aircraft
2- transmitter
3- go app

Keep in mind your I pad can be 'ON" but dont have the" Go  app" open .  Just be sure to open and close it last in the sequence.  I personally have had good luck firing up my RC equipment in this fashion, I seldom crash, and My equipment , and aircraft grow old with me.  This is just what works for me.

The transmitter was definitely off at the time.
Even before the updates I had trouble connecting to the apps feature of seeing video.
The only way I could get it to work was turn on the transmitter, open the Go app and then select the blue camera button, when it opened then turn on the aircraft. and then 1 in 3 times I could see the video pic on the screen (can fly for miles with no issues) every time it would connect to the controller and aircraft with no problems, just no video display ( the photos or video were still ok on the sd card).
Originally I tried a Samsung Tab 3, and an Aus tablet. they wouldn't work very well, when I fluked a connection to the video it was pix-elated. my Sony z compact phone worked every time. But I ended up forking out for a Ipad air 2 as it was on the list of devices that were compatible. funnily after these updates the Sony wont work either. ( I thought it may have been the Ipad update.
Its been windy here for the last 2 weeks so I haven't flown, My nieces are down tomorrow and were keen to have a look at it, hence the updates. I should have left it alone

Sorry, you are having trouble, The video transmission module may have been failing.  The only way to diagnose is to Read the SD card "Hidden file "  everything else is just a guess.  

If you want to know for sure if it needs to go in for service start with the Hidden File.  It is really simple.
You can also just place 1,7 FW onto a ( formatted )  SD card and try to update, this will l give you the data you need also.  
Once you check the SD card, if is shows the Video module on lines 0800 and 1500 are updated AND  detected .   Then I would simple do a re-fresh of the vido link to the RC . Also lower the camera settings on the Go app as well from 4k to 1080,  be sure to "Enable the Hardare Decode" as well this will take some of the load off the processor.  Then if you really want to get fancy , Upload the 32 channel " Update "  this will  give you a real clean video link.  Also make sure your "Video Transmission setting are set to Auto and not Custom, you may just be locked onto a crappy channel .  

Edit*** Just realised you have  the advanced and not the Pro, so no need to lower 4k to 1080.  BUT make sure you loaded the update from the Advanced Phanotm and Not the Pro phanotm  page of the downloads.  Also perhaps  use another device, if you can see any video it is not the Dreaded "Device not Detected" and can be  fixed, but until you know that for sure, we are just guessing.

Hi again,
I tried to install the previous 1.06.0040
it got partway through and just stopped , red light continuously on.
I then installed the version 1.07.0060 again and this time it seems to have installed.
It comes up in the Go app under (about) aircraft version 1.7.60
But I still have no video display.

I have sent an e-mail to DJI and to Model Flight in Adelaide where I purchased it in Feb 2016.
Hopefully they back up there products.

Hi, My phantom 3 Advanced has returned from the factory.
It now connects and shows the live camera feed everythime I connect it to my
Apple iPad Air 2 .
Apparently they changed the gimble board or something?
Before (from new it was intermittent) it would only show the live camera screen on the Go App once every so often.
Its bucketing down here and blowing a gale so I cant fly it yet.
When I connect it to the Go App its asking me to do a Firmware update for the camera.
When I select the about button on the app the firmware versions are as follows.
iPad version 9.3.1 Its asking me to update to 9.3.2 ( but after looking at reviews it seems its bricking iPads so I might wait a bit for that one)
App version 2.8.1
Aircraft version 1.1.9+
Remote Control version 1.6.0

My questions are,
1:  Should I update the camera firmware?
2: should I do a IMU calibration before I fly it?
3: should I link the controller? ( It seems to be linked already)
4: what is version 1.1.9+ ?

Thanks to everyone who shares info, Dji and Model Flight in Adelaide for sending it away and tring to sort it for me.

I updated from 1.1.9+ to 1.8.80 using an SD card (took 5 min)
Did a IMU calibration
Did a gimbal calibration
Didn't worry about linking as the RC and aircraft are talking to each other so seems OK.
Calibrated the compass.
Went for a quick lap around the house paddock and went to 120m up and out about 200m.
Seems ok
Will give it a good test when the weather is better.
