I would like to ask again if DJI can develop an adapter plate for X5/X5R and Lightbridge 2 to be used on S900 / S920 (s900 +  e1200) / S1000.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I am afraid that the adapter will not be available recently.

DJI Amy is Dji working at all on anything for the spread wings?  Honestly we spend the most amount of money and yet very we have seen barely any updates or any changes.  Groundstation for iPad really?!

Thanks Amy,  I am not bashing on DJI products.   I love my S1000 and S900 units, however I think that a lot more could have been done to the groundstation to allow us better use in photogrammetry work.  Quite a bit of people that uses the Spreadwings would love a way to be able to geotag their images collected using the groundstation, but unfortunately there is no such option.  Also, the log that we get from IOSD mark II is useless to us.   Fixing this things would make the spreadwings much more usable to a lot of us.

Unfortunately at this time, the X3/X5/XT Mounting Kit is not expected to have compatibility outside of the M600 Flying Platform.

If you upgrade your rig to an A3 flight controller, you would have access to onboard and mobile SDK that could let you get the functionality you're looking for:

I know DJI folks are going to mount A3 + LB 2 + X5(R) on a S900. The mounting bracket will fit - what is to be solved ( as I understand ) is the power delivery to the gimbal. M 600 delivers 18 Volt to the X mounting plate/ X adapter. S 900 has 22,1 Volt power source - so we will need a BEC or maybe the X adaptor/gimbal also can handle 22,1 Volt.

At this time we don't have anything official that properly indicates full backwards compatibility of the X3/X5/XT Mounting Kit. After further digging, I was able to find that the mounting bracket will fit on the Spreading Wings platforms without further modification and it would communicate with the standalone A3 with Lightbridge 2 combination. As you have indicated, a separate power source may be needed in order to finalize connectivity, but further details on this would be available once this component has been made available for purchase.

The power source q is still not solved - I wonder what power the x cameras get on the Inspire ? Could someone with a good voltmeter check it out ?
Anyway - it is two (at least) possibillities : 1 The x series can handle the 6s voltage, 2 We can use a BEC and step down the 6s Voltage to 18 volt.

As soon as the X mount is available I am ready to order a s900 + A3 + LB2

It will be nice to hear what you think when you are finished. Waiting for the mounting board for the X3,X5,X5R.

I am very new to building ( just repair on racer ) so I have a nice guy in France that have promised to help me out.

This is exactly the information I need. I want too use a X5R but don't trust it under an inspire. I'm looking to upgrade my S900 to take it. Just waiting for the adaptor plates to become available.

a few  Q's for you

1 - Just to confirm you are saying the x3/x5 gimbal mounting plate will fit the S900 platform? I have read on several of DJI's FAQ websites that it will not fit on the S900 platform
2- Would you know if the DJI Assistant 2 software is compatible with the A2 flight controller?
3- Is the rumored new pc version Ground Station software available?

Right now it does require some modifications as the rails on the S900/S1000 are slightly different that the M600.  However it can be used based on conversations we have had with DJI.  However, we have not fully tested it and I would be cautious at this time.
Assistant 2 and the A2 compatibility.  I don't know.  I do not have a A2 to test it on.I think that there may be but not until the Data Link Pro is available.  I don't know if it will be backward compatible.

The flight seems so smooth is this an enhancement with the A3 over the A2? I am thinking of upgrading my S900/GH4 platform to A3/LB2. I have a couple of questions:
-what gain settings do you use on the A3
-were you using the DJI Go app via light bridge 2

Screenshot of my setup A3-S900-LB2 this is almost straight out of the box. I changed expo's and aircraft info control and battery parameters. yes it is the Goapp in LB2.

Reformatting the SD would clear everything from it, so that would suffice as well.

It's essentially to ensure that the unit does not attempt to reapply firmware upon start up.

Are you running the E1200 propulsion on your S900 or the standard motors?
I am finishing up my S900/LB2/A3/GH4 installation and I know from the past the gains are different when using the newer E1200 propulsion.
Unfortunately for me the LB2 controller I was sent from my DJI dealer was defective so I had to send it back for an exchange.

I am finishing up my S900/LB2/A3/GH4 installation and I know from the past the gains are different when using the newer E1200 propulsion.

Yes I am running E1200, as I understand it the A3 is able to accept any platform/motor combinations without need to change the gains, it seems to work I have not alter anything with regarding to the gains it performed perfectly.       (Perhaps one of the tech guys on here can explain how???????)

Just to confirm, it is a S900 with E1200, A3 controller LB2 GH4 Z15, I am in the process of fitting a X5R to replace the GH4.

Keep us posted on how difficult was to modify the Matrice 600 mounting plate to fit the S900 I am thinking about doing the same, though IMHO, the GH4/Olympus 12mm lens is still a better camera then the X5 not the X5R. To bad the X5 camera cannot shoot 4K at 100MB bit rate as the GH$ does.

Looks good I wonder if there is a way to loose the extensions that were used to mount the Zenmuse GH4 gimbal and just attach the Matrice Plate to the S900 So the X series gimbal doesn't hang so low below the aircraft.

Tony in image DSC_0019.jpg the 4 aluminum brackets I am not sure what the need is for them, I assume you are using the extended landing gear, it just looks like the X5 sits very low. Oh well either way it looks great.

No your right you don't, I'm still testing the concept you know what it's like with the things you keep modifying them, I want to run two batteries so more modifications coming up.

Question for you is it going to make that much difference? At the moment the X5 is in exactly the same position as the GH4 used to be also the CG is bang on, so what would be the advantage of moving it up 1 inch???
