Arrow is using the A3 flight controller. Please be advised that the A2 does not support the X3/X5/XT mounting kit.

Unfortunately, the X mount is not expected to have backwards compatibility at this time.

So let's see. The x5 series is compatible w LB2. The LB2 is compatible w a2. But somehow, the a2 isn't compatible w x5? I don't see how that's possible. In fact, I will be doing extensive testing immediately.

Some more photos from this afternoon.

Nice build, I'm just about to do exactly the same thing. All the parts have just arrived today including a x5r.
I just had a couple of question. Why did you mount the A3 on the top plate. There is room for in on top of the round connector cover but I'm not sure if it would be secure on it or free from vibrations. Also I think the feed to the x5 mounting plate is 18v, is that correct?
I'll post some photo's when I've completed it.

Hi

The reason it's mounted on the top is the A3 runs quite warm it need cooling you are not going to get that if you mount in the middle, the M600 also runs the A3 has a cooling fan.

Regarding the 18v I have had confirmation from DJI that it will run on 22v.
Have now done over 2 hours flying no vibration problems whatsoever.

Cheers. Good to know about the A3 and heat. I do like to have all the bits inside so i may fit a cooling fan, although with current UK weather I don't think heat is too much of a problem.

One of the DJI tec guys wared me off from putting it inside, I thank the summer has gone so it's not going to be a problem

I am awaiting the arrival of the Matrice X5 mounting plate from DJI so I can mount my X5 on my S900/A3/LB2 just like you did.
Did you load the X5 firmware found on the Matric 600 support page?

I got my mounting plate today and put it all together, Tony.... I have no power to LB2 on the S900. I am using the included gimbal cable that goes to LB2 and the X5, the Dbus cable going to the A3 and the other cable that goes to Canbus 1. I also changed the X30 power connector to an X60 so I could plug in the X5 direct to the bottom of my S900.
No power to my LB now.. Ugh.....

I just did my first test flight today with my S900/A3/LB2/X5 all worked fine, still having an issue with my A3 and my S900 for no reason goes into return home after about 4 minutes of flight time.

on my second flight I made s bad mistake, when I landed somehow I pushed the throttle and I flipped my S900, breaking some props and the X5 gimbal detached, no damage to the X5 but I broke the
Gimbal Attitude Cable
Is this cable available to order I do I have to order a whole new X5 mounting kit?

Trying to read through the posts here. I've got an original S900, A2, Lightbridge 1 and a Futaba T8FGS. (Also have Inspire with an X5 and X5R)

In order to update the S900 to fly the X5 or X5R, I'll need:
1. An A3 flight controller.
2. Matrice X5 Gimbal kit.
3. Lightbridge 2.

Is that it? Do I need to but in a BEC somewhere in the powerline, or will it work directly? Do I have to make modifications on the gimbal plate?

You should try to follow the guidelines that are on page 64 of the M600 manual:

Nice platform setup what are you getting for flight times? And what size of lipo battery are using? As you know DJI claims approximate 28% increase in flight time and lift capacity. Any info would be appreciated.

Just curious: whats the total weight of the latest config posted?

Dont suppose anyone who has done the plate mod for the S1000+ has a template for it ??

I got my X5 from a Inspire 1 pro.
I assume if there was an update for the inspire 1, I could not perform that update because the X5 is not connected to an inspire 1.

You do an an Inspire 1, correct? The X5 firmware itself is the same throughout the various platforms it can be used on. The X5 upgrade packet on the Inspire is the same with the M600 page.

I do not have an inspire 1 anymore. I kept the X5 from it.
So which if any firmware would I choose to upgrade my X5?
I downloaded both the M600 X5 FW and the Inspire 1 FW. They are differnt.

WM610_FC550_FW_V01.09.01.30.bin Inspire 1
MATRICE600_FC550_FW_V01.09.01.10.bin Matrice 600

Looking at this the Inspire 1 is newer.

Since you no longer have an Inspire, you would use the M600 file.

There may have been some miscommunication, I apologize. In regards to the standalone A3 system, the X3/X5 camera update option has not been made available. Updating the camera is currently only available with Inspire 1 and M600 set ups.

If you have an OSMO handle, then you can upgrade the camera that way as well.

Hi guys,

I am about to start an S900/A3 Pro/LB2/X5 build and wanted to know if there are any limitations currently that I should be aware of?

Ive been told I'll need to make up a 90º XT60 connector for the A3, and that I'll need some new JST wires as the ones that come with the A3 only work with the M600.

Additionally I have been told to look into glueing the X plate on the S900 landing gear, but also have heard its not really an issue if using the X5.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated and of course I will document the build into a tutorial for future builders to use.

One last thing, does anyone have the torque rangers to be used for the various different screws? I have a decent driver with a 0.2-1.4NM range and also have the 4200 Loctite.

Not sure where else to post this. I would like to buy an Align G3 gimbal for my s900 so have more camera/lens combo options for still photography. Anyone know if there is an adapter available? The align gimbal is made for rails with 135mm spacing and my s900 has 155mm spacing between the rails.

yes you can run it off 6s battery

So what was the voltage solution requirement  to this ...the start of the discussion..  regulator .. separate battery or is 22 v. Workable?

The power source q is still not solved - I wonder what power the x cameras get on the Inspire ? Could someone with a good voltmeter check it out ?
Anyway - it is two (at least) possibillities : 1 The x series can handle the 6s voltage, 2 We can use a BEC and step down the 6s Voltage to 18 volt.

No one answered the power requirement as far as i can see??  Please
