Hey guys, I'd like to ask for advice, I recently bought a P3 Standard but it won't go further than 150m in distance and 100m altitude. Begginer mode is deactivated, aircraft with the latest firmware, both batteries at 100%, compass calibrated etc... antenna well extended.

What am I doing wrong? This is supposed to go way further than this..

Be looking for something to solve the P3S short range and give it a big kick in the pants:
It's already working well for the P2V+ and soon the P3S and possibly the new P34K too !

Seriously? You also are getting this lame range? If so I'm so returning this drone, it is useless with this range, even my old P1 could go further than this.

My P3S will fly 750 meters away at about 50 meters high. Sounds like a setting needs to be changed.

same answer than yaonya ,  welcome to the club jeje  , i own a phantom 3 standard and i only get 100 meters    the video signal is amazing  but the rc signal is really bad ,

What i did is that i create a windsurf for my antenna, and  now i get almost 500 meters of altitude and also 500 meters of distance but only with the windsurf .  
and the weird part of this is that  i lose RC signal  but  i never lose video signal ,  a few weeks ago i was flying in an open area and i get 700 meters  and video signal again was perfect but really bad RC signal

Please specify if you're getting a "max distance/max altitude" warning or something. Even with disabled beginner mode you need to set max distance and max altitude in the app.

when you set  max altitude and distance and you reach what you set , the DJI go app tell you , max altitude or distance reached , and it dont let you go away, but this is is not the case

our issue is that  the phantom lose RC signal and then automatically it activate RTH

Exactly, I have the maximum alttitude set to 500m, and it wont go higher than 100m, same with distance, it won't fly more than 100 m before it triggers RTH, without saying any kind of message regarding maximum distance/attitude reached.

try to use a windsurf , i get 500 meters using it , i don't have any other solution , i going to try to find any other solution and if i get something better i going to let you know

Windsurf? What is even that? I won't bother doing DIY things, it should work as expected out of the box, I'm returning it, or changing it for a new one that actually works.

Read my post here...Modified controller...You'll get more distance than the pro model with this..

I wasn't getting more than 700mts with Pro and was because of high WiFi interference. Now i try to fly in straight visual line above 150mts (above the range of most modern routers) and i'm getting full range.

also i know that you dont have to bother your self doing stuff like this , but i think that there is nothing that we can do , i already spend weeks talking with DJI to see if can get a solution but they dont help me at all, so im just sharing my experience with the phantom 3 standard

when you buy it , if you buy it recently i think that is better that you return it and get the advanced , now with the new offers you can get it for 799 usd

There is a user maximum distance setting, you don't have that turned on do you. Default is 120mAlso, try a WiFi reset.

I don't lose video, I lose RC signal. When I reach around 100m away from home the RC signal drops significantly so the aircraft automatically enters RTH mode. I've also reset the WIFi connection already.

Is this in an open area with no buildings around, remember the Standard is WiFi. if you are trying to fly in an area with buildings and houses around, imagine all the WiFi routers around.
You need to be in a open with no interference are to get the advertised range.

I've tried in urbane area and totally inmersed in the country side, I'm exchanging it for a new one, this is definitely defective... I can't think otherwise

almost all p3s owners have this issue i hope dji can solve it with a firmware update

If you do exchange it get the Phantom  3 Professional  .  Today I went 12,000 feet out.  I t was awesome.
( I could have gone even further but am doing this is 500 foot increments)

I was just outside the city when I did this.  Remember also line of sigh is a must.  DJI has a great video on antenna orientation.
