today the antenna snapped off (rather easily i might add :/ ) on my p3s. i didnt see any replacement antennas on the dji webiste. i am wondering what my options are?
if it's relatively easy and inexpensive i would be willing to try fixing it myself, or will i have to send it in?

Are you saying that DJI does not sell a replacement antenna? You sell bodies, motors, boards, but not a silly antenna? Need to add that to your parts list for sale. I could not find it anywhere.

I agree. The antenna is flimsy. I also broke mine. But I was able to fix it. I started looking for a replacement but DJI does not have one available. Seems odd to me but so goes the crow. The only other option is to upgrade to a new antenna at about 100 dollars or more, or you can buy a new Remote Control for anywhere between 95 and 135 dollars, or you can contact support and they can charge you who knows how much to fix it.

Sorry dude. It does suck. From the looks of your picture the wire has pulled out of the fitting (connector) in side the remote.

When doing the antenna upgrade does it matter which antenna?

I just got off the phone with DJI reps. They do not sell a replacement antenna (housing). You must send it in for repair. Pretty stupid. Although they did tell me you can replace the antenna wire from the remote to the antenna by purchasing the antenna from them. $7.00. That does not however fix the antenna housing. Somebody should just 3d print that part and insert the antenna and sell the whole package.

I have one laying around I beleive. I put an extender on my son's and I no longer use the antenna...Friend me up, I'll mail it to you if you live in the United States.

Tried to friend you. The system for this forum sucks. Should be able to PM anyone that wants to be PMed. This is a lot of $hit to go through to talk to someone personally.
I am interested in the spare antenna if you still have it. I think that I am going to look into buying a 3d printer for this kind of stuff.

No... They don't because the antenna cable is soldered to the board... most people don't Solder.

The antenna isn't soldered to the board. Just clip's onto it. You have to remove some of DJI's white special glue....then it just pop's off...really isn't to bad to do.

may be you can do the same think and put an other antenna like Flying poptart,  i did the same and now I'm really happy with the range that i get , thats a really bad antenna in my opinion  maybe 0.00001 dbi antenna jeje

I use a DBS antenna , i love it !! now i have better range !

I usually secure RC electrical connections with hot glue or shoe goo...dries quicker, is also flexible (like silicone), easy to remove if needed. (and doesn't smell of acetic acid)

For what it's worth, I received a barely used Phantom 3 Standard for Christmas. The seller said the antenna was broke, just like this one...but it didn't seem to effect the flying ability. He was right. It flies fine without the antenna. I'm assuming it is because the standard remote says, "Antenna inside, do not cover."
