Brilliant. I had been following the engineers doing amazing things with UAVs but had o idea of the Cirque project. Just brilliant

Interesting to wonder if they are just stock Phantom 2's plus the lampshades. I watched the behind the scenes and both credits, and nowhere do they mention DJI or Phantom.

And they make reference to algorithms, and also the synchronized flight seems impossible for any of the tools I am aware of. I'd love to know how the flights were programmed and controlled.

This is incredible.  Yet another reason I love Cirque.

In watching the footage and pausing it, it doesn't appear that those are all Phantoms.  I would love to know how they were able to choreograph this.

Wow, that's incredible. I thought one of the "talking heads" in this video was awfully familiar....turns out he's the same professor who had that amazing TED talk from last year - "the amazing athletic power of quadcopters" - the one where they catch balls and balance glasses of water, and where he clips off 2 rotors on a quad and it keeps flying in position hold: http://www.ted.com/talks/raffael ... ower_of_quadcopters

I saw Cirque du Soleil years ago in Las Vegas and was amazed. I would love to see there latest performance with quads, unbelievable!!

Amazing stuff. Off to Goodwill for a lampshade!

Very cool, sound overdub very good too, obviously must have been a bit noisy, could try experimenting with noise cancelation
