This drone seems awesome

I LOVE IT. I love that it has more than just 4 motors.

Still doesn't look like an Inspire 1. Nothing compares to the Super-Car look.

I am happy to see a good competitive contender to DJI. It keeps these companies on their toes and makes them not take their customers for granted.

Thats awesome.....  Its going to be some  real competition... I curious about range , eiling and geofence.

As the owner of several Yuneec Typhoons, I have some history with their products. The CGO3/4k camera is still average at best, the gimbal is better because it will spin on a slip washer so no more "centering" of the camera. The radio is GREAT, but the most important issue is the office in the US (Ontario Cali) will answer the phone and stand by their product. I have personally had issues that were my fault repaired by them with shipping covered both ways, under warranty. Good company.... looks like it will create a new 6 rotor niche. My $.02

Not impressed one bit a typical sales pitch with no specific detail only that it avioded a falling tree an hour after it had fallen.An avoidance system does look promising but id lay money this wouldnt live in the shadow of a p3p let alone the inspire range.Once dji get these current problems fixed and further developments there wont be any thing to compare it with once again

What is different from any other presentations of , Apple, Samsung, Audi or any other big brand, the guys on the stage always seems to be exited, but this guy looks kind of grumpy, don't know why

Nice and i like the partnership with intel!!, i will probably get one but think what they have coming down the line, dont really care for the collision avoidance just a good flying uav minus a bunch of app gimmicks good flight time great gimbal and great stable flight good times ahead!!

I am not that impressed but we will see. I like the way he said "we are on the verge of a drone revolution" Ha Ha the verge was 2 years ago! They are playing catch up but want to think they are leading the way.

A viable competitor would be welcome and not funny, I am really very frustrated with the constant firmware and app upgrading surprises,  I was thinking of selling my I1 and phantoms because of t his constant upgrading (downgrading?)  The geo fencing is over the top  I just want to fly  

There is many competition for the Pantom3 but not for the Inspire.

I don't think there are many competitors for the Phantom. For the price I don't think anything can offer you the same functionality. And if some new thing comes out there would probably be something from DJI to compete so they would still have the best product.

Fear not. The Inspire is not ready for the rubbish dump just yet!

This 'Demo' is not all it reports to be. Look closely at the body of the UAV in the flying demo. Now either, it has developed a dreadful skin condition that manifests itself as dreadful 'warts' or there are strategically placed tracking markers placed about its central core. These are remarkablably similar to the (now old) drone/tracking aids used in the TED lecture.

The purpose of these is to utilise a network of cameras (cleverly concealed in the roof rigging) which, using software and some jiggery pokery algorithms track the UAV in real time and alter its trajectory based on spatial perception.
Notice how the one the Used Car Salesman is holding doesn't have the tracking balls - That's because this thing currently doesn't work without them and an array of cameras overhead !!

Is this the phantom / inspire killer ?  NO Way. . Definitely NOT.... Show me some realtime outdoor raw footage shot by joe blow pilot of the bird actually doing everything it says and doing it well ! Killer ?Hmmm.. Dji has plenty more up its sleeves and are very serious competitively speaking, they have the ball and are running with it ,  Try and catch up !
Like he said second half of 2016 .... and by then Dji will likely introduce another new bird.....refined and more complete than ever, maybe something in between an s 1000 and the inspire with A-2 mc or ??

I really do not think this is a Inspire or Phantom killer...

It is nice to see some difference solutions out there... Not much of a fan boy of this brand. It reminds me to much of Walkera brand.....

Nice to see the comment on this drone, some like it and some don't that's fair. Quality and if the video its real or they made some FX i don't know, but if this thing could follow you like it says and the quality of the AC is good, well, maybe not a killer but a good competitor.
Quess you all seen this video, so i Guess imagenition is the limit of whats possible.
And yes i'm sure DJI got some trick in their sleves

Dave, I own a Yuneec Q 500 and Chroma Blade ( by Yuneec ). I can tell you this much, the reliability of the DJI lightbridge  is a quontom leap Ahead of Yuneec systems.   My Phantom 3 Pro and Inspire 1 are much more fun to fly and I have 100% confidence that I am not going to have a GPS or RC failure.   One thing I will give Yuneec is customer service. Yuneec went above and beyond to repair and or replace my broken aircraft.  Although I have not had to use DJI service ,I unfortunately have heard nothing but horror stories unless you have 100% proof the crash was DJI fault.  Sometimes there are grey areas that you need  to just side with the customer.  If DJI can match Yuneecs customer care attitude you will have the market cornered.  DJI have a FANTASTIC product , just go the extra mile taking care of the customer.

We're here to help you, yes there are customer service stories out there that some have not had the greatest experience but it's getting better all the time.
And the DJI forum is pretty helpful.
