Can someone explain what this large Authorization Zone is about.

I have already been through most of the threads. I would like DJI to explain why they would set up an 80 mile Preauthorized area in the middle of the woods which includes my backyard.

There are two maps.
One is for beta testing only, the huge areas are there to cover as many beta testers as possible.http://www.dji.com/flysafe/geo-system/unlock

That is a big relief. I am glade I declined to join the last BETA software grout.   

Authorization zones will often be in protected national parks as well.

I live in a national forest not a national park. The yellow circle does not include all the national forest I live in.  Seems to be someones imaginary yellow circle. If the areas are put up they need to be explained. If it is just beta it looks like it is not going to be an issue.

guys do a format to microsd and reinstall the app!i had the same problem and now I'm ok!i am flying again!!!

I live up in Mineral Bluff (all clear for now) and suspect as you mention they are thinking national forests are the same as national parks.  Hopefully, this will all normalize at some point.  Too much nice scenery up in our area!  Good luck!
