Hi,
I am a newbie with a Inspire 1 using an Ipad Air 2.
I have made a sun screen and fitted an anti-glare protector, and even with Ipad brightness set to maximum, I have difficulty seeing much in camera view.
I have not tried any adjustments on the video settings. Would pushing up the brightness on the (video) camera view adversely affect the quality of video recordings?

You do need a sunshade when out in the sun, but you should be changing your exposure to the light conditions outside at the time and direction of your flight. The wheel on the right side controls that.

Thanks - I will try that. So it will override the automatic exposure control?

Dale,
In this thread there are many tutorial threads, and some on getting the best shots with the camera controls. Lots of good advice.
