The red light is on, and LED #1 is flashing green. I can't do anything to get it to stop. Anybody have any idea what's going on with it?

So you are unable to turn off the battery is what you mean. The blinking light means its around 20% battery left and the red light means the battery is on.

Yes, I am unable to turn it off.

Have you read the manual?

short press+ long press doesn't turn it off?

What issue, you cannot turn off the battery?
One quick press and then a long press. Same way to turn it on.
Th only time I know a battery won't with off is when it's in hibernation and the red light stays on and will not turn off.
If that's your case then leave it alone for 5 minutes until the light goes out, then charge it and that takes it out of hibernation mode.

thank you Ken, I appreciate the follow up.  I am aware of how to turn the battery on and off, but it will not turn off.  There is one LED blinking and the battery will not charge.   I have left it alone for an hour and no change.  Any other thoughts....?

yes, I've tried to charge and no change.   The charger doesn't even heat up.  

with my other two batteries, tb47 & 48, they both behave as they should and the charger gets warm while charging.... not so with the subject battery

I have never heard of that before. I think the original poster may have not been trying to correctly power off the battery since there was no response after the power off instructions were given to him.
You can call support tomorrow and have the battery sent in for repair 818-235-0789.

still on,  still one LED blinking.  I purchased the battery less than a month ago through Amazaon.  I have contacted the seller about returning, haven't heard back yet.  Is there another avenue for returning / replacing the battery?

From my understanding, you go 100% through DJI for battery issues. even if you just bought it.

Just call and they will take care of it. You send it in and when they receive it, they will repair it or send you another battery.

     Funny , I bought mine through Amazon and one of them did the same thing.. Eventually the light goes out.  I have no trouble charging though.

Just dont want you to feel it is only you.....

     You did not buy it used did you ?  There is some guy on E-bay selling  the TB-48 for about 130 dollars and it must be reconditioned.  It is just Junk.

I learned a lesson and will only buy new batteries Now.

I just had a brand new battery do this to me as soon as I took it out of the box. I sent it back. It's bricked. DJI should exchange it.

Thanks everyone, the feedback is helpful and it is good to know that I am not alone.  Spoke with DJI earlier, sent a video of the scenario.  Sounds like they will be replacing, so all will be good.  As for buying on Amazon, it was supposed to be new... seemed new so not sure about the source.   I did fly the Inspire today with my other batteries and was glad the troubled battery didn't cause me more issues than it has so far.  Cheers!

I had no control of the battery function, I tried a short press, then long press, nothing. Eventually the battery wore itself out, and is in my case with a DEAD label on it. Is this worth trying to send back to DJI to have them look at it?

My battery is doing the same thing.  LED #1 is flashing and the red power button light is on. Battery will not turn off, just keeps flashing. Has anyone found a resolution to this? DJI, can I send the battery in for repair? It has less than 10 charge cycles on it. Thanks, Richard.

Hi David. Been reading the thread on the TB48 blinking battery with red power light staying on. I’m having the same problem. Did you ever figure out what can be done from home or does it have to be sent to DJI?    And it if it needs to go to DJI. Do you have a number of the person you talked to there?
