There's nothing wrong whatsoever with cropping or post-processing an image. I do wildlife photography as a hobby, shooting mostly in Nikon RAW format, and both are skills that can and do add immensely to the quality and art of the photograph. Most, if not all, of the top-tier nature photographers would agree, I believe.
Composition in-camera is critical, but the artificiality of the frame aspect ratio dictated by camera/sensor should never be a limitation on what the photographer wants to show. |
