hi there I got a dji phantom 2 for my Christmas and I'm about to order a set up for using my go pro. Question I have is how do you control the go pro for taking stills while in flight and distance wise for communication ect.

In order to take stills every x seconds you must set this on the gopro BEFORE take off. Infact, also recording video is to be started before takeoff. Your wifi remote for the gopro can cause a flyaway (if you use 2.4 mhz). Do NOT have wifi on during flight!

Thanks for the replay that's very handy to know about the wifi setting top stuff. So I need to set my go pro up for taking the pics or recording before lift off sounds good to me thank you.

Most of the plain bare P2's use 2.4GHZ

I used the still every X seconds only ONCE!

All I ended up with was a SD card FULL of photos I had to review and ended up deleting anyway.  What I do now is shoot 1080p video and simply do a screen capture of the parts of the video that are actually worth making into a still.  I do the same for both the Phantom 2 w/ H3-3D and the Phantom 2 Vision+
