I would like to know what the rules are in that first race, is the route around the track optional? Why did they sometimes take the shorter route?

Not bad, in fact the video is cool
360p hurts though, see if you can find a setting that says 1080p or HD in your editing software.
Also see if you can find an audio setting that say Fade out to make the end less brutal.
Finally, if you wanna go All Out see if there's some on-board footage you can snag from the boats!

I think the only rule is to go both short and long at least once a heat

An after the fact thought was to put a go pro on the boat.  As to the quality, I had to size it for youtube.  The original looks much better but is over 190 meg.
