Gopro 4, H33D Gimbal, Immersion Rc 600 mw Transmitter and a Black Pearl Monitor;

What would be a good antenna setup for the black pearl and the transmitter?

The stock antennas got me about 600 ft..

What would be good for under $100?

I wanna get alittle over a mile atleast..

Also if i order new ones do i have to put the new antenna on the transmitter and one of the new ones on my black pearl monitor and leave the stock antenna on it as well? Ive seen people do that all over youtube and the forums.

I'm using 5,8GHz Fatshark spiroNET antennas (skew planar wheel Circularly Polarized). There is now no differentiation between TX and RX, unlike the former clover leaf/skew planner combination. I keep one stock whip antenna on the black pearl too (better for close range).
Perhaps a patch antenna might give a bit more range, never tried those.

whats your range? and can i use any antenna on my transmitter and monitor? Or do they have to match the Gh? I know that sounds dumb,,,

the 600mw video TX should bring alot more than 600 feet, use spironets

they are not made for super long range but those are the best compromise because you get some range and you dont need to point the antenna exactly in the direction of the phantom, thats the main benefit of them. There are other antennas for long range but you have to point the antenna directly to the phantom all the time. With 600mw you should get over 1000m. They are all  more or less the same, just get a pair and you will get more distance. The positioning of the antenna is more important here, the best is when the head of the spironet is under the phantom, this can only be made with a spring like case, that flaps down during take off.

okay i think i will. I am trying to do this with my black pearl being mirrored on my tv and i have my pearl mounted to my wall right next to my window. Do you think that will work ok?




But shouldn't that help the video if anything? Being on the second story and higher up?

As for the spironets would these work well with the immersionrc and black pearl?

I have gone over 1000m with my Video Aerial Systems Blue Beam Ultra 5.8ghz antennas. Works well going through trees too. IBCrazy knows his antennas! I have used the FPVLR Parasitic Helix for long range at over 3000m as well, but it's more directional, but still a pretty wide beam width.

no, of course that would not work, FPV 5.8GHZ needs line of sight, you must be outiside to do it and never fly behind objects or trees.

Here is a link to the antennas. Yes, you would usually put the 3 lobe on the transmitter and the 5 lobe on the receiver, but they can be used on either.
