I'm in Olathe - just a block north of Garmin. Just got my Phantom 3 a couple weeks ago. Flew it six times.

There is a Phantom pilot in JC that has posted some great drone video on YouTube.

The Johnson County Airport Authority has a Unmanned Aircraft Request form on their website. It also lists the phone numbers for Executive Airport and the Air Center

I have been in contact with Larry Peet at the Airport Authority. He has been very helpful. They even have Drone video posted on their website. Should make it fairly easy to comply with FAA regs if you are flying in Olathe or Gardner areas.

Just got email from Airport Authority. They advised notifying the control tower within an hour of proposed flight time. Which is good.  It makes spur of the moment flights feasible. Don't have to plan well in advanced.

Hi All,

Waiting on a part from DJI as I got mine stuck 50 feet up in a tree and took a little damage getting it down.  Once I am back on-line will be ready to go.   I will try to do better about checking in on this thread.  Look forward to meeting you all.

Hey Sedalia , I'm getting ready to purchase my first quad next month, either the Inspire or Ph4 . Let me know if interested in flying !

so much rain and heavy winds lately .It's been hard to get out and fly .   I bought the Litchi App and still haven't been able to get out and play with it    North side of KC

KC, MO here.  Work in Lenxa, live just south of the Grandview triangle.  I fly FPV in my yard and the park which is 21 steps from my patio... not pristine beaches or cliffs but I don't have to pack and go anywhere.
I'll watch this thread for future developments. Meanwhile here's the video I shot Sunday evening the 14th.  This was a Litchi mission and yes I was nervous till it finished.
Silly me I had the video editor set to export the file in only 720p. lol

I"m a new P3P pilot from near St. Joseph.   Glad to see there are so many local flyers.

Is anything happening towards a group or gathering of some kind?  I kind of forgot to look back here and I personally don't do FB so I might miss out if that's the case.
