This affects firmware 1.6, Flight Mode F, and the enableVirtualStickControlModeWithCompletion API. It has not been tested older firmware versions.
Below is an extract fom the Autoflight Logic Website.

Critical Issue Discovered We discovered a DJI firmware issue that prevents the aircraft from executing Return-to-Home (RTH) on RC signal loss when any third-party app is connected via the SDK. Our testing does show that RTH will activate when the critical battery level is reached (configured in DJI GO), but this may result in the loss of your aircraft if the home location is too distant. DJI indicated that this issue will be resolved in the next firmware update, but they have not given us a timeline. Until then, we strongly recommend that you do not operate Autopilot (or any third-party app) near the edge of signal range. We will post updates on our homepage as we receive more information, so remember to check back often. What AUTOFLIGHT LOGIC is referring to is a recently discovered behavior in “Virtual Stick Mode”:
   - This is the mode where you directly control the attitude of the aircraft through velocity and angle commands.
   - In this mode, if the aircraft loses connection with RC, the aircraft will not return to home immediately, but rather wait till the battery is lower than 15% and then return home.
   - This doesn’t impact DJI Go or most 3rd party applications as few applications actually use “Virtual Stick Mode”. (Normal flying, waypoint missions, hotpoint missions and follow-me missions  are as expected).
   - This issue will be fixed in the next firmware version.

Just out of curiousity,  could this mode be used with fpv goggles to control direction of the aircraft?  ( Ands thus camera angle or Pan ) ,  as well as control the tilt like the Litchi app??
