Lost my phantom this morning while flying at 400m up hit rth but was getting futher away took a while to realise though. When i realised i was moving away i cancelled rth tried to lower altitude and fly back manually but still kept drifting away by then the battery was dying so had to bring it down in a field 1400m away but now its lost as the app does not show the flight log only that it registered the homepoint before take off

I presume you meant 400 ft up? What was the wind like?

No meters unfortunately 20mph

Legal height is 400ft. 400m the wind was probably 40mph+ hence why it disappeared!

I looked for 3 hours where I think it came down I don't know if I'm waitsting my time going back out I managed to manually get it down to about 8 ft and 10% battery in a field behind a hedge next to a road but I've got no real idea which one

Go to HealthyDrones.com, follow the intructions to upload your flight record.
Come back and post a link to the HD analysis and you'll get some help to find out what happened and possibly give you some clues where to look.
Did you have prop guards on?

The app will have recorded a flight record you can upload to healthydrones.com & find the last location.  They have instructions on their site to find & upload your records.
If it landed in a field there's a good chance it'll still be there.  Not so much if it landed on the road.

Can't say I've got much sympathy though, flying at 400m on a calm day is irresponsible (& illegal), 20mph wind on the ground is likely to be a lot more at altitude as P3_Nutz said.

Yeah I'm not looking for sympathy I would luke to know why the app didn't record the flight path as all my other flights it has

Well hope you find it. Lets hope its a good learning curve for you looks like  lot of walking to cover all the possibles to find it.

Glad you found it. I lost mine once but luckily found it pretty quick. When I came back and uploaded the log, I could see exactly where it went. HealthyDrones is the best.

I'm afraid the wind took it.
In ATTI Mode the P3 can take 35Mph.
In RTH Mode I guess its lower as it's some kind of GPS Mode.


Regarding a potential SAR mission your best bet is to lean on the flight path in Google Earth Pro or similar.
Download the .kml and look for clues before heading out.



I'd start looking by the railroad crossing where the log indicates landing

I'm so slow it is faster to just go find it than me making a reply about it
Where was it?

Where indicated on the map a walker must of found it a picked it up cause it was put on a fence post no damage at all

Also did someone say it was in attitude mode cause I may of accidentally switched from gps while I was trying to run through the golf course after it

It was in only in regular GPS mode and RTH.
But in RTH the Phantom will only do 10 m/sec rather than the 15 m/s when you're driving.

Looks like you need to do a lot more learning before you try anything too adventurous.
Start by reading up on RTH and practicing so you understand how it works.
