Received my Inspire 1 V2 today under the battery is modal number T600 from what i have heard this is a older V2 modal, if this is true i think a person spending 3100.00 should get the latest and greatest should i return it?

T-600 is an inspire, simply its original name. Refer to your serial number for the date and version of the bird.

I know this is not the case here, but I have on many occasions brought the latest version of something and found it to be worse than the older version.
usually this is because the manufacturer has found a way to cut cost, lesser parts etc........so in a nutshell, sometimes newer is worse !!

OK, but honestly, if you admit that doesn't necessarily pertain in this case, then what's the point, but hey you hang in there Harb,  it's all good.  

Can some one explain how to decipher the serial number.

How can you determine the what the serial number means on each component. Is it safe to say the T601 is Revision E? Also, when you get a T-601 would the controller number be different? One of ours says T601 that we recently ordered while the older Revision D model is a T600. Yet, all of the controllers are the same number.

Hmmm they designate newer inspires t-601 but then is it the latest version ? Did you buy it from Dji direct or a certified dealer, if purchased some other place you may have been duped with an earlier version with some but not all of the upgrades..

If it has the upgraded motors , newest QR props and locks and the newer wider anti vibration plate for mounting the camera it's the newest v2. If it has the older style small anti vibration plate it's an earlier v2.
Serial numbers starting with capital D was the latest version I know of unless they now have an E model.

Regarding the T600 / T601 RF output power issue that is currently discussed here and in different forums: There is NO difference in terms of RF Hardware (Lightbridge) between the T600 and the T601 version. Some people state, that according the FCC certification the T601 has a higher output power because of a different hardware. That is incorrect. The Output Power was increased by firmware on both T600 and T601 models in certain geographical regions. This has been incorporated in the newer FCC certification of the T601.
So again: RF Hardware on TB600 and TB 601 are exactly the same and so is the Signal strength and range.
Regarding the different Remote Controller Versions: 658A and 658C are the equivalent to T600 and T601. Same RF (Lightbridge Hardware) just a different / newer certification on the 658C. 658B is the japanese Version and uses 900mhz for the connection between the remote controls.
There is NO need to return, swap, RMA anything if you have T600 / 658A. It is the same hardware, same output power and the same Range on all versions.

I dont believe anyone knows how to discipher it, what I can tell you is that you should change your T600 because you just got shafted by DJI.

I meant you should return it or change it for a real V2.0 which is a T601, I am learning as time passes by that DJI brings the indisciplines and cheating practices of the Chinese, hope they can outgrow this soon as it is a part of their culture.

You should be fine. Some people got the early versions of the V2. I am not going to stir the pot as this horse has been beaten over and over again. Just fly and have fun.

Than the 600 right? The arms on mine are back to the regular old look right?

Hi Dave

Just to be clear I have the Inspire 1 V2 with the 658B model controller for the US 2.4ghz. I think you need to include the C1 identification after the model number on the remote means (US).

I didn't want to ague the point, only bring this up so someone does not panic if they discover the have the 658B controller in the US.

I have posted some photos showing both the Inspire V1 and V2 below

The new T601 V2   I received had the straight grain carbon fiber tubes.
Not really sure if this is one of the changes or if DJI switched suppliers.  Hope this  helps....

Rich, if I am interpreting Dave's post above correctly your controller seems to be the Japanese version with 900 mhz?
