Assuming a Phantom is behaving normally, when should its owner open the case (shell) and have a first-look at the guts? Will opening the shell void its warranty? What should we look for, other than cracked insulation on wires?  Any routine maintenance suggested?

Are you sure about this statement? When I talked to DJI tech they said not to open it.

"Damage caused by unauthorized modification, disassembling or shell opening which did not follow the instruction of official manuals."
