Does anyone know if you can fly a drone over the National Battlefields?

I would assume it is a National Park, so I'm guessing not.  However, I have seen some say you can fly over Ntl Parks, just cannot land or takeoff there.  That makes a certain amount of sense, when you consider airplanes can fly over them.

National Battlefields are managed by the National Park Service. That would seem to indicate they are considered "National Parks" for purposes of drone prohibitions.

Your best bet is to call the specific park(s) you want to fly over. (Get name or person and write down details of conversation). That will give you a definitive answer.

If you don't like the answer you get and want to test the system, you can takeoff/land from outside the park. This, according to internet accounts (in other words, do so at your own risk), should be legal. Of course, if something goes wrong and your bird crashes/lands inside the park, flies close to people, damages anything, etc. you will be in for a world of trouble.

From what I've heard/read it is forbidden to fly over national parks, regardless of where you take off.   Supposedly it can disturb wildlife and visitors.  I'm sure it can, but seems like thousands of cars, trucks, motorcycles, and campers would too.

Thabs for the feedback, it's getting tough to fly around the Carolinas.
