im not trying to be funny but he kinda did post a video of what the problem was and you kinda said ...

I did actually watch it when I got home....All 12+ mins of it that could have easily been explained in 2 mins of video, or a couple lines of words. And without posting a log, there nothing anyone can do but speculate.

No speculation needed.
The mystery was solved back in post #21 above.
But it would have neen a lot quicker if the question was posted in words or log files than having to watch that much [.....] video.

I think maybe that is incorrect,

I think most folks were trying to say we are good readers and we can read faster than most videos present the info.
IE 12 minutes to say what others and I think could be done ina paragraph or 2.

It is NOT your fault , it is the way the internet is dumbing things down all over
EVERYTHING is a video---
instead of writing a small article they say lets make a video of someone READING it out load!

it is not a matter a catering,
but in 12 minutes I can read 20 or 30 posts , I suspect others can as well,



That is why I still LOVE my real newspaper..

in my world when I ask another for help,  I defer to them when it is offered.
in other words how can I help YOU help me!

I agree for most folks under 25 years old, adults prefer to read , expecialy those that are tech oriented.

We have to much to do to waste time watching silliness.

That why MY mother sent me to school in 1960-- so I could do it myself...

I must be an exception kirk2579, I've been retired since 2001 and after being in electrical engineering for 25 years I don't want to read anything much less technical stuff. Movies are my entertainment, not books just because I can watch a movie in say 2 hours but a book takes much longer and I don't want to spend the rest of my life sitting on a couch reading. Yes, I know books go into more detail but if the movie is good enough and keeps me interested, I don't care about the details, it's entertainment.

Yes, UAS DRONE tends to drag things out a bit but that's who he is.

Not arguing with you kirk2579, just giving another perspective.

For what it's worth, I am well over 25 and am happy to read or watch a video to gain information - I really don't care which.  Having said that, I would MUCH rather read a one or two paragraph concise description of the event than watch 12 minutes of mostly pointless and irritating/offensive video.  Just the same, I would rather watch a 1 or 2 minute video that clearly describes or shows the situation than read 12 pages of mostly meaningless and/or offensive text.

It all comes down to common sense.  If you want good answers, explain your question/problem in a respectable, concise and meaningful manner.  That is where the OP went very wrong in this case.  Just posting a link to a 12 minute video, with no accompanying text in the message shows a clear lack of respect for my time.  I don't think anyone can argue that the video was respectable, concise or meaningful...

OK your first mistake is not taking into account the tailwind that was giving you a ground speed of  ...

No, first mistake was doing a rage test over water.  If ANYTHING goes wrong, its swimming with the fishies.

Doing a range test over land offers the following options NOT available to water tests:
1. If you loose signal, YOU can drive toward the drone and get in range
2. On land you can have spotters follow the drone.
3. If it has to land, good chance to recover it by sending a spotter to fetch it.

I didn't go out over water any significant distance until I did my land test.

Next time you want to ask for help...
1. Send the kids outside to play.
2. Get to the point.
3. Add some text describing the issue and then support that with the video, not the other way around
4. Use G rated language, especially with your kids right there. (I cuss like a sailor sometimes but not around the kids)


What software were you using?  If it was anything but GO, I believe there is a bug with the RTH functions on some 3rd party apps.
