it is no adjustable but work from 2-49ft. 60 degree angle side to side and 30 degree up/down.

Do the bottom sensors also do avoiding system?

Is the 400 feet ceiling something that cant be changed?  Starting to hear rumors that the 4 is capped at 400 feet.

Though, I do have one concern and also a hope-

Wish it had sensors all around.  What happens if you're doing a pan shot and there's an obstacle on the side?  Does the 4 have the ability to know of objects based on it's position?  Having the ability to detect obstacles in front is great, but even one sensor on each side and one on the back would have been great.

I also hope there is a way to attach quick release prop guards.  I know alot of people hate PG's, but the reality is.. they are a great safety feature.  I have quick release PG's and believe that the reason I never got cracks like other P3 drivers have, is because the attachment plate for the PG's added alot of support to the area in question.
My PG's were an after market purchase, and worth every penny.  Would be great if DJI were to also come up with Prop Guards that are quickly attach/detachable.  And have a carrying case with that in mind too.

Either way, looking forward to March 18ish!

Yup flying sideways and reverse would crash your bird. It should be 360 sensors all the way.

Dji ken just purchased the p3p only to find this is now released you say it's amazing but how amazingly different is it to the p3p? Will there be at some point an update to the p3p allowing the tracking function? Surley it is capable? iPhone cameras can recognise a face!!

The max altitude of the P4 is 500m from take off point.

I will not pre-order. However, I definitely see a P4 in my future, say, 10 months from now.
For now, my P3A will have to suffice. It is still a pretty decent flying camera.

I didn't mean batch, but estimated shipping will start on the 15th for the first orders and go from there.

Estimated Shipping Time: Start to ship according to the payment sequence from March 15.

Can the P4 recognize and stay away from electric cables?

Can I still get close to objects for inspection. I assume it senses the rate of motion and will try to back up if it feels that a crash will happen?

Yes, it should let you up to 2ft. And it won't back up, it will stop.

Thanks for the reply Ken and to Outlaw. Maybe in the future it will be able to detect electrical wires. Pre-ordered! Now having a dilemma to keep or sell the Pro. I love my pro and excited for the Phantom 4. I wish the battery are more affordable.

Does it really matter? Just because you don't like, doesn't mean others have to feel the same way. No need to question his motives. It is the new model, with new features. Might not be the most breakthrough features, but I believe it is a step in the right direction. I am not a fan of the looks, but I am intrigued by the obstacle avoidance and I hope it works out.
Honestly though, if I never bought anything that I didnt like the looks of, I never would have got my first Phantom.

Hello fellow Phantom family. I have a DJI3P and just pre-ordered a Phantom 4 from DJI's web site. (I live in the US)

I have a question....

I ordered the Phantom 4 for $1,399 from DJI and placed on my Visa card. Looks like it went through ok. (no errors) The status on the order says "Payment Reviewing". I looked online at my Visa statement, and it shows a pending charge of $1,399.

I was just wondering why this order was not in "Payment Success" status? I placed another order for a spare battery and props and used my Paypal Acccount for that. It shows in "Payment Success".

Is the phantom 4 order in "Payment reviewing", because they don't actually charge your card until shipment? Just wanting to make sure no delay on getting it shipped in a couple weeks. And I couldn't find a link to contact "DJI sales" to make sure the first order was OK.

It took about 12 hours for the status to advance to payment reviewing and payment confirmed. As long as when you ordered it went through okay then you should be all good. can't wait for the P4 to arrive!!!

100% true. It definitely looks like a flying pillow. I ordered one to play with, but I am definitely hanging tight to my 2 P3Ps in case it doesn't work out for me.

Oh for sure. I will definitely post honest reviews, one way or the other. I don't know 100% if they are holding anything back at this moment, but I could be wrong. I think the whole obstacle avoidance thing is still in its infancy as far as reliability goes. I am not thinking I will fly 40mph at a brick wall to test it out anytime soon...

The P4 will be like all the rest of the Phantoms before it, faults will appear that have to be sorted in the first few months, its just the way it is.

Mine took awhile before confirmation using a credit card. I even got a call from fraud protection just to make sure I was the one who charged the card. I think it's because its from China. But rest assured DJI do not have a problem taking your money. :-)

I want FPV mode for use with VR glasses as part of DJI go!

I'm currently using cloud light and it works but buggy.

I contacted DJI online sales, and they took care of the issue. Good response time. About 6-8 hours.
