V1.10.0090 is the latest firmware on DJI's site, the CSC was increased to 3 sec.
  It sounds like #4 is referring to CSC

Not really.  I do it regularly.  However I don't fly it indoors.  Even in the middle of the house I get good GPS.  (no metal roof)

Not impossible, depends on the house construction. I can usually get that many sats. But that said my entire great room area in the back of the house (18x40) is skylights.

Amazing you get GPS indoors, Mind you, I;ve fired up my bird inside, just to test my motors, but actually flying indoors is usually a recipe for disaster!
Calibrating your bird indoors just leads to a bad calibration & is another no-no.
I know in a panic, holding the left stick down to shut off motors seems to take an enternity, & most newbies I;ve seen just don't hold stick down long enough for it to work.(ask me how i know!)
I never use CSC to shut down, another no no, If you notice, on start up say,  when you use the 2 sticks into corners, the motors give a little rev-up, which is why allot of Phantons will flip sitting on the ground, Left stick down is the only real way to shut down.
I do hope DJI sees fit to fix your bird, do post how you make out,eh & good luck,
& Read the manual, like 10 x!!
