I did the upgrade and have had a terrible time with it. I was reminded today when flying, a message came up saying my camera needed updating. So, on my return home I began. I have been at it for hours and now have questionable results.
First step: I downloaded the new firmware [v1.4.0.70] and put the card in the bird.
Ran it for 1/2 hour 'updating' then shut it down and put the card in my computer to check result file.
Result: Abort.
The firmware on the SD card is identical to or older than the current firmware on the aircraft. (?????)
Second step: I downloaded old firmware [v1.3.0.60] and added it to the card. After running that, I got this:
Packet: WM610_FC550_FW_V01.04.00.70.bin, WM610_FC550_FW_V01.03.00.60.bin
Result: Forbidden.
Multiple version firmware bin files are detected. Please delete the redundant bin file.
Third step: I removed the new, leaving the old. After running that, I got this:
Result: Packet: WM610_FC550_FW_V01.03.00.60.bin
Upgrading ...
Result: Success.
Fourth step: I removed the old, and pasted the new. After running that, I got this:
Packet: WM610_FC550_FW_V01.04.00.70.bin
Upgrading ...
Result: Success.
So, Yeah!! I thought. After rebooting the craft, I get a prompt that "Reformatting is suggested" This appears just to the left of the AE lock/AF/MF icons, where the camera settings normally are. Also, a note came and went that said that the camera could not detect lens. So, I shut it down and removed / replaced the lens, re-started and now it will focus and allow camera setting changes, but the Reformatting suggestion is still there.
What does this mean and how is it done??
