If you have the Inspire 1 case, you will need to do some cutting to get the X5 adapter plate to fit ...

I do have an OSMO as well. But Is there any way to get that camera to work? Its black so the color would match my Black edition I1P perfectly. If not I'll just buy a new one.

Worse day ever. For anyone who still uses v1.0.0.30 and is serious about image quality... do NOT upgrade. I misread thinking I could go back to firmware .30, now I am stuck using .70...
Does anyone have any tricks to possibly get back to .30? I thought I could go V1.04.00.70 to V1.03.00.60 then to V1.00.00.30, but I get stuck at V1.03.00.60
Image quality of .30 is still superior to .70. The only benefit I see is the manual white balance is much better. Otherwise, the image is much nosier (all isos), more artifacting and MUCH less detail than 4k Cinelike D +2 sharpening in .30 (which is the most common setup we flew)

.70 Notes:
-Flickering has been improved. Although iso 400+ is so mushy I can't see myself ever giving it to a client. They have applied WAY to much noise reduction and the image has no detail. I would rather have more noise than this mushy mess.
-sharpness is the same now for normal, cinelike-d and dlog. At 0, the sharpness is almost perfect, except compared to .30 it still looks like crap because of artifacting and lack of detail.
-D-log is complete garbage and is un-recoverable in a grade.
-Still has the same issue as .40, .50 where at higher isos on the 12mm lens parts of the screen are smeared, for me its usually the whole left side of the image.
-Haven't tried 1080p60 as I am too sad I can't downgrade

Ken... do you have any suggestions how to go back to .30? We now have a $6000 paperweight, that is going to jeopardize a $40,000 project in the next few weeks!!!

Just upgraded to v1.4.0.70. update was successful, but have problem with gimbal yaw reset. Only horizontal gimbal alignment is reset, vertical is kept the same. So in case camera was looking up or down it is still looking same vertical direction after reset. Posted detailed description in separate post http://forum.dji.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=44884

Does anybody experiencing same problems?

I did the upgrade and have had a terrible time with it. I was reminded today when flying, a message came up saying my camera needed updating. So, on my return home I began. I have been at it for hours and now have questionable results.

First step: I downloaded the new firmware [v1.4.0.70] and put the card in the bird.
Ran it for 1/2 hour 'updating' then shut it down and put the card in my computer to check result file.
Result: Abort.
The firmware on the SD card is identical to or older than the current firmware on the aircraft.
(?????)

Second step: I downloaded old firmware [v1.3.0.60] and added it to the card. After running that, I got this:
Packet: WM610_FC550_FW_V01.04.00.70.bin, WM610_FC550_FW_V01.03.00.60.bin
Result: Forbidden.
Multiple version firmware bin files are detected. Please delete the redundant bin file.

Third step: I removed the new, leaving the old. After running that, I got this:
Result: Packet: WM610_FC550_FW_V01.03.00.60.bin
Upgrading ...
Result: Success.

Fourth step: I removed the old, and pasted the new. After running that, I got this:
Packet: WM610_FC550_FW_V01.04.00.70.bin
Upgrading ...
Result: Success.

So, Yeah!! I thought. After rebooting the craft, I get a prompt that "Reformatting is suggested" This appears just to the left of the AE lock/AF/MF icons, where the camera settings normally are. Also, a note came and went that said that the camera could not detect lens. So, I shut it down and removed / replaced the lens, re-started and now it will focus and allow camera setting changes, but the Reformatting suggestion is still there.
What does this mean and how is it done??

So, after more research, it's got to be the SD card that needs re-formatting. I have had the app ask me plenty of times if I want to format the card, but never have I seen this message or in this place.
Is this change a result of the firmware upgrade?
I did a slow reformat with my computer and will find out tomorrow if that was what was needed.

I've installed 1.4.0.70 but my olympus 12mm cannot use autofocus feature.
When I tab screen to focus  (in AF mode), it says "MF mode, auto focus disabled".

1) how can I resolve focus disability?
2) if I want to rollback to 1.3.0.60, how can I perform the rollback?
**updated**
After reboot and the message was gone.

I did the upgrade and have had a terrible time with it. I was reminded today when flying, a message  ...

Beyond checking the SD card, ask yourself if after the FW update the lights on the gimbal go off (previously blinking red and green) and the beeping sounds stop. If so, the update was successful. The .txt message does not say 'success' unless the aircraft is rebooted, shut down and the card removed.

You can also verify success of a FW update by looking the 'About' tab on the Go App.

Although the documentation says that the changes are in the X5, I've discovered (have two Inspires), that the aircraft also updates something. If you do not put a X5 with the FW update .bin in all your 'Pro' aircraft, you will see a 'Disconnected' error message on startup.

With all due respect Mike it is obvious you have well and truly drank the DJI Koolaide but it's satisfying every now and then when you affirm exactly what others clearly see and articulate. DJI never tells the purchasers who spent handsomely for the privileged to pine for their due everything that their firmware updates contain. Hence the extreme distrust you now rail against daily. I should add, so your fur isn't rubbed backward, that it is as much your right to blindly believe all that DJI professes as it is mine to heavily distrust as they reap what they sow.

You have noise?

.70 is a disaster... and of course you can't downgrade. I am getting more noise at ISO 100 on V.70 than I was getting at ISO 800 on V.30.  CineD and DLog are also completely unusable.

Really?

Quite strange, cause even in OSMO, when you double-push main button on the handle, camera is centered, by meaning X an Y axis.

I downloaded and started the install for the wrong firmware on Friday. I have an upgraded Inspire 1 w/ X5 camera and had a "not so bright" moment. Anyway, it started to upgrade and stopped with a faceplant since I had the X5 mounted. Wouldn't go any further, so I tried to undo and go back one step with the latest X5 firmware version. No go, so I mounter the X3 camera nd all was fine.
Trouble is, I have to wait for the next X5 firmware to overwrite the partial, I guess in order to fly the X5 configuration.

I updated with this firmware revision and when I check on the DJI GO app the Camera Version indicates Version 1.4.0.70.
However the Aircraft version shows 1.4.00.10+ and from what searching I cant determine if the aircraft revision is correct.
Can anyone advise?

New Pro arrived yesterday, needed an upgrade, fine. Upgraded, success noted in text file on card. As I have another Inspire 1 my App is already on 2.7.1, so how come DJI says App should be 2.6.0?? Also, although text file says upgrade successful, it stills aircraft upgrade required even thought it says I'm on 1.6.00.40, confused??
