Again, thanks of much for your help here. I am new to this hobby and I'm not going to send up my Phantom 2 Vision until I know the firmware is working...(on the ground with no props attached)....
When I got the bird last week I downloaded the PC & RC assistants to my Apple laptop....
I connected the Phantom to the laptop and opened the PC assistant and upgraded to ver, 3.08...ALSO installed the Vision APP from the Apple store ver. 1.0.43....
then I started systems checks....all LED's work in coordination with the stick commands....I get Home Lock and GPS lock....camera works fine....all seems OK and ready for my initial flight but I played around with the Vision App and figured I could make a simple flight plan with waypoints and hit "GO" just to see if the motors start up...
its here in the vision app in ground station when I hit "GO" that it says that I need to be in GPS mode (ready to fly)....my upper left screen in the Vision App is showing Mode N/A and it should show GPS....
When I went to the DJI site under the Phantom 2 vision....section FAQ at the bottom says my firmware is mismatched.....
This firmware stuff is what creates all the system problems...I'm convinced....
So in order to make waypoints work....I have to go backwards in firmware or the DJI site is not up to date....hope its the latter....however, I can't get the camera upgrade to 1.1.9 for some reason....
may have to go visit a local dealer.....
Again, thanks for listening and helping out...much appreciated...
BTW I purchased a cheapo Syma to practice on....and I think this was a good thing to do to learn to fly.....I feel confident that I have studied enough to fly in either Phantom or Naza,,,just don't have the confidence to lift off the Phantom with the firmware not communicating correctly...
