Hi

Well I know it's not really advised but anyone else who is wondering you can hand take off and land your Phantom. You do have to be really careful but it is possible.

Yes, it's not recommended but totally possible and sometimes required in certain situations.
Best was is to have someone else release and catch it.

Sure
Handing catching for landing is very appropriate when you're somewhere that's wet, bumpy or dirty and you don't want to mess up your gimbal.
Just remember to power down whilst holding it still, otherwise the drone thinks it's still landing.

(And I do it above head height to stay clear of the props)
