What exactly does SDK compatible mean, as stated on the DJI website?

The Phantom 4 is compatible with DJI’s SDK, offering up access to additional sensors and even more control so that developers can create customized apps and exciting new features. The development kits will be available soon, please keep an eye on the official website.

yeah.. that is a paste and copy from your website..  what exactly does that mean?  we can add stuff to it without voiding the warranty?  etc?

There will be a Phantom development kit in the future, you can check the Matrice 100 series as an example, that means the hardware is provided, you can design your own app to fly your aircraft. You can check this Matrice 100 SDK as an example. http://www.dji.com/product/matrice100/info#sdk
