In the FAQ that go with the DJI Osmo it is stated as follows:

4. Can the smart device mic be used for sound recording instead of the Osmo mic?Yes.  There will be no sound during playback from the Osmo, but the sound  will be available when the file is opened from the media library.

But I do not see how this could work. Is there an option somewhere in the Go App I have missed? How would I go about in doing this. This would be interesting as this could probably solve some audio-problems and give the ability to record stereo sound into the videofile. Of am I misinterpreting this?

Hi,
If you turn off the Audio Recording in the settings of DJI GO App, you can use your phone's Mic to record the audio and the audio can only be stored in Media Player.

It just gives us another option to record the audio, I think. Since the sound is picked up via the mobile device's Mic, so the quality of the audio depends on the properties of the mobile device.
